  1. My family and I visited this sanctuary in August. We had a fantastic day with the elephants and Mr Thong himself. The food was super fresh bought from the local market on route to the elephants. We were a total of 10 people in the party and with 5 elephants this makes a good ratio. In fact we had so much time with the gentle giants that we all relaxed around them. This is by far the most relaxing tour we’ve been on in Thailand. Expect to get wet and muddy! Bring towels, water and a change of clothes. Highly recommended.

  2. Amazing day with loved and cared for elephants. Small groups, feed elephants, mud bath then river wash then medicine and feed elephants again. Delicious lunch. Guides and staff great fun and very informative. Definitely recommend 💙💙Take a change of clothes, be prepared to get wet and muddy.

  3. Excellent experience!! I would highly recommend this tour. They treat their animals very well and are in it for the right reason.

  4. We chose this place between a LOT of options because we had the feeling it was the most natural enviorment, with perfect conditions for these creatures and also kind of private, we didn’t want to be 30 people around one animal. And was better than we thought! Everything was magical, the food amazing and we had a whole day with the elefants, they were not forced to do something they didn’t want, they were free and amazing. Xamy, our guide was great!! Thanks for everything!!

  5. Wonderful experience seeing these creatures up close. We laughed at their antics and were amazed by the amount of food that the consume! As you are driven to the camp site, you’ll see many other elephant sanctuaries along the small river. A guide on a different tour said that there were almost 40 different “sanctuaries” around Chiang Mai!We didn’t want to go with a large group of people (we had a family of 8), so we appreciate that Thong caters to smaller groups. A couple of people from our family woke up sick, and they were kind enough to refund our admission. Lunch was delicious and plenty of drinks were offered. After the elephant camp, we were taken to a waterfall crowded with other tourists.

  6. This was such a close intimate experience with these majestic. curious, sweet animals. All the people here were so nice, skilled, and obviously cared for and had good relationships with the elephants. The ride to the farm was in a big comfortable van. Lunch provided was wonderful. The wild dogs everywhere, including petting puppies, 🐾🐾 were a GREAT treat and surprise. The trip to the waterfall afterwards was great. Lots of steps down and back, which was a great workout. I could not more strongly recommend this experience.

  7. What an incredible experience. My friend and I were fortunate to be the only guests that day and so we essentially had a private tour which was amazing! The staff and our guide were great and made the day absolutely fun! I’d highly recommend booking at this elephant sanctuary if you want a more intimate experience with less people!!

  8. This was a true elephant sanctuary. Not one chain in sight. The elephants are commanded by word only and only have a lose rope around the neck. The handlers clearly love their elephants We get to feed the elephants by hand, apply mud to their skin and then scrub it off in the river. It was a great experience
