We had a beautiful day, we were lucky that we booked the Tour alone except the part in the elephant sanctury was together with other people. Due to that we could decide on our own how long we would like to take Videos and Photos on each place. Our guide Ko was polite, friendly and really patient with us. It was a great experience! Hint: bring enough clothes with you warm/cold/beach clothes. The weather went from cloudy, to foggy/cold (highest point of Thailand) to warm/sunny (during the hike) you could swim in the river near the elephants therefore you May need swimwear.
Itinerary was 10/10 and would recommend but I had to bring it down a few points because our “guide/driver” changed midway when we left the elephant sanctuary to head to the bamboo rafting. The new guide didn’t speak English and wasn’t able to explain to us what we needed to do/ prepare nor answer our questions. We opened our google translate but it probably wasn’t accurate and he really tried his best but it definitely was a struggle. Other than that, the bamboo rafting was really fun and the experience at the elephant sanctuary was good too. The person there explained everything to us about the elephants and we just fed them (no bathing them of any kind which is what we were looking for).
This will be one of our special memories from a whole backpacking trip. It’s the only genuine, ethical and caring place to visit elephants from start to finish. It was the most perfect experience and if I could get six stars I would. They pick you up in a, high-quality van with comfy seats and take you all the way to the sanctuary. Then once you arrive meet the most charismatic yet humbling tour guide who is absolutely brilliant with both the elephants and the visitors. After you have some education on elephants you get to meet them and give them their favourite snacks. Benefitting enrichment, you then go on a small hike into their natural habitat where they get to play around. Our lunches provided and absolute delicious pad Thai and after lunch you get to make your own all natural nose clearer (much better than anything 7-Eleven Will give you) and it’s a brilliant reusable gift which can fit in any luggage size. Playing in the natural waterfalls was incredible with the current being gentle yet fun to challenge. And the bamboo rafting was a brilliant experience because we got to see other elephants playing in the water as we were going round and witnessed even more Chiang Mai magic.
Such a lovely experience with these beautiful animals! This is a true sanctuary where you can quietly join them walking through natural surroundings and by the waterfall! Stunning!

Our experience exceeded all expectations thanks to our wonderful guide, Go, who led us to the stunning viewpoints of Inthanon. Enjoying a delicious traditional lunch and aromatic coffee, we also learned the art of crafting our own smelling balm. The care shown for the elephants was heartwarming, and we were delighted to have not one but two meals throughout the day—first at the park and then shared with the elephants. The waterfalls we encountered along our journey, both at the sanctuary and beyond, added to the breathtaking beauty of the day.
Visiting the elephant sanctuary was an incredible experience that fully immersed me in the beauty of nature. After a scenic hour-long drive, we arrived in a lush, jungle valley adorned with a cascading waterfall and a sparkling river. The elephants thrived in this idyllic setting, reminiscent of a scene from Jurassic Park, as we observed them in their natural habitat. Feeding them fresh fruit and accompanying them on their daily jungle trek was a joyous adventure, as we watched them effortlessly uproot small trees to munch on nutritious foliage. We concluded our unforgettable day with a delightful lunch beside the tranquil waterfall, knowing the elephants were living their best lives, free from tricks and human expectations, basking in their own peaceful paradise.
