We arrived at the Ferry terminal in our car & bought a ticket. 280b for 2 people, and a car. We parked in line, had enough time to get to the toilet and back & it was time to board. The trip takes about 40 minutes and is very pleasant. The roads on Koh Chang, although windy, are quite good. There is food and drink on board the ferry, and toilets, and also plenty of seating. What a great service.
The ferry service was cheap and on time. There are enough seats on the upper deck and the main pier also offers snacks and drinks for the short trip. Upon arrival there were enough taxis to take you directly to your beach/resort.
Fairly punctual but try and be there about 20 minutes before departure especially if bringing car to ensure you get place on ferry. Easy trip about 45 mins each way and very reasonable prices. Ck out last ferry as there is a cut off point not 24hr. Good seating and nice scenery to see on crossing. Recommended.
The service is getting better, staff are friendly and helpful, and slowly money is going into upgrading everything. In a years time I suspect it may reach an excellent!
We were only 5min away by car from our resort to the ferry, we were foot passengers, the service is very good, the price for two to Trat return was 320 baht, there was plenty of seats on the top deck, it also had a shop where you could buy snacks and water. The ferry from Trat runs every hour. We both thought it was a very good service.
We arrived by taxi and as we walked to get our tickets amongst the que of cars we were approached by a woma asking if we wanted ferry tickets and as we where on foot to come with herTired and hot we did soIt then became clear she was selling a full service of ferry and then bus to your resort. The trouble with this was that her claim that she had her van in line and ready to go on the ferry was falseIn fact it would take five more ferry trips before the van got on and arrived at the other sideBut after our luggage had bee. Put in the vanWe were ushered in to the first available ferry without our tickets and assumed that our van was onboardWhen we walked off the ferry we soon found that there were another 10 people in the same situationWe then waited for five ferries to arrive before we found our van arriveLessonIf you arrive either just get a vehicle on the other side or ask which row of vehicles is first on and then ask the drivers if those if you can join themAfter a long trip there, loosing 90 mins due to this was very frustrating
Easy way to get Koh Chang. Ferries sailed continuesly. Waiting time was about 15 minutes. In the sun and heat that is quite enough 😀
The ferry is an old rusty barge that barely deserves the moniker “ferry”. Fortunately the water is rather shallow and I was told that even if it sinks, the deck will remain above water
This is the nearest ferry to our house in Trat, when we visit our house on Koh Chang we use this one. Old ferry but does the job. There is a small cafe on board, toilets are a tad primitive but only a 40 minute crossing. Very long waits at peak holiday times stay an extra day leave Trat a day early. No drinking alvohol on baord!
We drove from Bangkok to Koh Chang Ferry (Aow Thammachat). The car line was long. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get our car to ferry. The ferry was good.
