  1. Easy to find and has that special feeling and smell of all Russian Orthodox Churches. Lovely young couple in care of the facility.

  2. We loved this church. Especially if you are orthodox, there are some many details inside this Holly place which can touch your soul.Amazing priest and his wife, open for a talk and a few cups of tea 🙂 I felt like home. I strongly recommend to everyone to stop by.Thank you for this beautiful and peaceful late morning!

  3. We passed by The Russian Orthodox Church as we were heading down a small road towards the forest and waterfalls. Open daily from 8a-8p, the place is very welcoming. As I approached, there was a padlock on the gate and at first I thought it was locked but this is not the case just turn the gate handle and walk in. Inside the gate is a green lawn with benches, a trampoline and play space for kids. Walk up the stairs to the actual entrance to the church. Inside there are various pictures, drawings, cloths and history of the church. It’s very quiet as no one else was there during our visit, so you can enjoy your brief tour. After you exit the church and head down the steps there is a clean restroom behind the stairs.

  4. its stay in klongson,if your a christian and need a place where you can stay allone, them welcome you in the church..everything is white, nice territory and people.i think there are russians.can also come whit all family.

  5. Very nice small church, friendly minister told the fascinating story of founding the church. Must have been miracle. God bless !

  6. Enjoyed visiting this church as it was a relaxing little mental break from the rest of the island. Would not interest all those that travel to Koh Chang but as my fiancé is Belarusian we were particularly curious to see it. (Although there is a relatively big Russian community on Koh Chang) We were surprised to see ‘Orthodox Church’ signs on as we’re driving around.Offers a place of quiet contemplation and father Sergei and his wife were engaging and kind. There was plenty of literature available which my fiancé found insightful and interesting for herself. Unfortunately no literature in English however had a chance to speak with father Sergei and (as a native English speaker) I understood him fine when he was explaining the history of this particular church and Orthodoxy in Thailand generally. He also mentioned a few websites to review re: history of Christianity and the different denominations (I.e. Orthodox and Catholic) which I found interesting and educational from a historical point of view where the churches were together and then split up and the ramifications of that divergence. They are still constructing a small chapel so donations are put towards this and general upkeep although we didn’t feel pressured into making any donations which is refreshing compared to some other places of worship in Asia, S. America & Europe. Worth a visit if close by or are on Koh Chang for a while and wan to do/see something different and learn why it is there.

  7. Praise the Lord that looking up to our island and gave us a Church where we can now offer up our prayer to the Almighty! Thanks to the Church authorities who built this temple for us. Thanks to Father Sergius that he prays for us sinners! Very beautiful and peaceful place in Koh Chang: must-see!

  8. I have called this review of the Russian Orthodox Church “Unorthodox Church”, because you have to ask yourself what is a church like this doing in Buddhist Thailand on an island dedicated to the sybaritic desires and satisfactions of tourists?I have no answer to this. I met and spoke to Father Serge, the priest at this church, but his English was somewhat stilted and I could not really piece together what he was saying. All I did gather was that the church was only one year old and had been built by donations from the international community of Orthodox Christians. But there it is, in all its traditional architectural style and the iconography associated with Orthodox Christianity. It is well worth a brief visit, even out of idle curiosity. And if you meet Father Serge he will invite you to the next liturgy service, which thankfully I had to decline because I was leaving the island the next day.

  9. Thanx Sergiy and Julie for warm welcome and very interesting excursion! Very nice place ! Loved it! If you ll be on Koh Chang you need to visit this church.

  10. We were particularly intrigued with this Russian Church on the beautiful Island of Koh Chang which is traditionally Buddha. With the present economic climate there were less Russians on the Island this year! The church was built with donations and the charming Father Sergei and his wife look after this beautiful building. Definitely worth a visit.
