Klong Son Bay is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 23120, Thailand
Klong Song Bay, with its Chang Noi Beach, is one of the best kept secrets of increasingly popular and busy Koh Chang in Thailand’s Trat Province.It is a small bay in the far north west of the island, just a couple of kilometers from where the ferries pull in from the mainland at Ao Sapparot Piet.The beaches around this delightful bay are now being developed, but it is still possible to enjoy the quiet and isolation here.There is a large development on the northern shores of the bay, the Siam Royal View Resort, which consists of houses and condominiums either owner occupied or on the tourist rental market. But they don’t come cheap.But that doesn’t stop you enjoying the beach and having a cool drink or a snack at one of the few beachside restaurants.I expect that development will continue, so if you want to see it in as natural a state as possible, you had better hurry.
The shambala bar at Siam Roal View at klong son bay is a hidden place to go. No crowds, good lounge music, european&thai food, cocktails…. there is the swimup poolbar with a GREAT Sunset. Sundays the expats on the island come to play cricket on the beach. Anyone can join…No fees….just enter where the sign Siam View Marina is. A bit after 7/1..just enter hrough the securitygate ..pass the matina..follow the until the shambala parking…
We visited Ko Chang already in March this year (at Kaibea) but this time we stayed at The Aiyapura and Klong Son Bay. Beautiful place quiet and huge resort.
Stayed at Siam Royal View resort right on Klong Son Bay and it is fabulous, there are 3 bars/eateries that front the beach and all are really good.
Some reviews have defined this beach as the best one in Ko Chang.Some others as a hidden Gem.I might agree with the 2nd description as it is not a long or amazing beach but rather a small one and indeed hidden. And it is beautiful, indeed.Still there are some more impressive beaches in Ko Chang.And if like me you prefer a long enough beach to have a sunrise jog, or a long walk, or may be and even better a relaxing walk at the end of the day, especially at sunset which you can’t really see well on a northern beach, then you should look for a resort on White Sand or Khlong Prao Beach which are much longer and oriented to the West.You’ll have there glorious sunsets!I have posted reviews with many pictures to illustrate how amazing the sunsets are on Khlong Prao beach.Still a beautiful beach of course, like so many others in Thailand and Ko Chang.
My friends and I at first loved this place with a cool beach front vibe, swim up bar and very extensive cocktail menu. The natural ingredients and choices looked amazing. It’s a shame though when we got the feeling that we were seriously being duped with poor substitute liquor or in fact watered down no liquor at all. A group of about 10 of us ate and drink for numerous hours racking up a very large bill. We have zero problem spending money on quality and honest items but we figured out that the bar was either leaving out alcohol completely from our drinks, giving half pours/shots or giving us poor quality water down liquor. Don’t lie to or cheat customers. Eventually good paying guests will figure it out. Maybe it’s the bartenders and not the owners/management or maybe it’s BOTH. Either way it ended up ruining an experience that could have been amazing. Be honest and be great.
