Good selection of books with interesting titles. Good diversion for the traveler. A nice small bookstore. I visited it looking for vintage books and there seemed to be mostly newer titles, although there were several interesting titles I had not seen before on the subjects I enjoy. The owner was friendly and spoke English,
Nice shop where you can buy many used books. I saw a large choice, in many different languages. Don’t skip it if you need some new reads.
This is a wonderful bookshop which has every book imaginable. I have been going there for six years and have built a great personal library via this shop and cannot recommend it highly enough. George and his team are a delight to talk to and so helpful. Forget your Kindle and enjoy these real books. It is indeed a real gem. The prices are not high at all as one customer claimed and you get 50% back on your next purchase.
If only this bookshop was close to home. It is so well stocked and organised. The woman we spoke to was very helpful and knowledgeable, identifying authors and locating books. Highly recommend this bookshop to anyone needing to stock up for the next part of the holiday. You can also return books here for a discount off your next purchase.
I’ve been coming to Thailand for a few decades and there used to be a ton of used book shops. Unfortunately most of them are no longer around but this place is. It’s got a huge selection of older and newer books in every genre. Plus one if the biggest benefits (if they’re still doing it) is if you buy a book here and return it you get 50% off your next purchase. Either way it’s a great find.
There are still plenty of rusted on book readers and if you like paper rather than Kindle, this is a great place to visit if you’re in Chiang Mai. From the street, it sort of looks a bit nothing, but I received a really warm greeting when I walked in and the actual selection of books is terrific. The prices are also at least as good, if not better than anywhere I’ve found in Thailand.I was worried about finding decent reading material when I headed north but now know exactly where to go when I return.
A fantastic second hand book shop, with every genre imaginable. You could easily lose yourself for an hour or two just browsing. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about books! Fascinating.
Second hand book shop and I believe majority have been donated/traded in – most battered paperbacks were priced at their original retail! For this money you can go to the mall in Chiangmai and buy a brand new book. I love to support second hand book shops and appreciate it’s a dying trade but at these prices no wonder! Book shops in central london are cheaper so rent/location is really no excuse just pure greed on behalf of the owners. I went in ready to donate/trade some books but once I saw what they would be sold for I decided to gift them to fellow travellers and spare them forking out retail price for battered second hand books. Also very unfriendly/unhelpful staff 1/10 in terms of business 5/10 in section of books. I live in Chiangmai 4 months of the year and will never return here again.
Amazing selection of books and great prices on the used and new books. I Bought ‘The Time Travelers Wife’ for 260thb, in very good quality, almost new. It can take you a while to choose.
On The Road and The Lost Book Shop may have a fair collection but the prices are ridiculous. Classics published by “Wordsworth” UK are 160 Baht (£4) for a used book that could be bought in the UK for £1. Dirty, bent, dog-eared books in poor condition are sold for 80 Baht. Avoid!!!!
