Visited Toto’s elephant sanctuary with my 12 year old son. What an amazing experience!! First we had some information about the elephants and general do’s and don’ts. Then had 2 hours of meandering through the jungle with our group and the guides. The elephants seemed really at peace in there natural environment. Scratching on trees and generally just being elephants. Next my son and some of the rest of the group gave them a mud bath and then a shower…..amazing. Our excursion did not end there after a short drive we then trekked for 4 hours and stayed with a local mountain village, all of these activities were accompanied by great food. Next morning we jumped on a bamboo raft and went roughly 10 miles downstream, through the heart of some pristine jungle. After this we were driven to a waterfall. Can’t thank Toto and team enough for the memories me and my son have made in 2 days!🙏
Very lovely place, super cool and funny people with a good English. The elephants are in a good shape and playful also good price! It worth the experience. Book with trust! 👌🏼(Couple with 2years old kiddo) Abuja!🙏🏼
Had the best day ever with the elephants and the tour guide Adam was absolutely amazing!really enjoyed it and would do again
Such an amazing day! It was so special to be near the elephants and also they let the elephants guide the way rather than instructing them what to do. We got to feed them bananas, go on a trek through the jungle with them (so fun but don’t nice shoes!!) and got to mud bath and wash them!! We had so much fun and lunch was amazing too. Definitely recommended
My day at Toyo’s Elephant Sanctuary will always hold a special place in my heart. The guide, Adam, was incredibly friendly and informative. I could truly tell these elephants were treated wonderfully and lived a good life. We fed the elephants, walked with them, and gave them a mud bath. I was smiling the entire time. We were served a delicious lunch after along with fresh fruits. I absolutely recommend this company to everyone wanting to see elephants and learn lots too!
Possibly the best thing I have ever done! Have spoken to others and this seems the best out of all the sanctuary’s!
This was the highlight of our 5 days in Chiang Mai. A great day for our family of 4 (children 8 and 11). Pick up from our hotel at 8.15 then approx 1 hour drive north into the hills. We had a toilet / coffee stop on the way. There are several elephant sanctuaries in this area. These elephant tours / day trips have changed a lot since my last visit to Chiang Mai around 15 years ago. There is no more riding on elephants which is a good thing. At this sanctuary the elephants can roam freely over a large area of jungle. Large variety of landscape, rivers, mud pools, thick forest, bamboo, steep slopes. When you arrive at the camp you get a set of loose fitting blue clothing, this is to protect your own clothes and also the elephants recognise these. We met the elephants – there are 7 here, all females, and fed them bananas so they were familiar with us. We then did a 90 minute walk with them. You can see them in their natural habitat eating different plants and pulling up bamboo. This was a fantastic experience for all of us. You need reasonable mobility to do the walk, it is slow paced but over rocky and uneven ground. 2 other people on the tour with us. The guide was great, good English and excellent knowledge of the elephants. At the end we helped bathe the elephants in mud then washed off int the river. You can get in with them. A nice lunch was provided and water. Then drive back to our hotel. We would highly recommend this tour 😀.
What an amazing day this was. We were very fortunate to have a full tour to ourselves due to the potential for rain and the closure of the sticky waterfall, which added to our experience. We were picked up promptly, taken to a rest stop for the toilet, then had an introduction to the elephants walking past us before it was feeding time.Being really up close with the elephants for a few hours was an unforgettable experience, where we trekked through the jungle and into the waters with the elephants roaming freely in front and behind us, and our hosts made us a delicious lunch afterwards. We also had hundreds of amazing pictures taken which was included in the cost of our tour, of which were uploaded promptly to their website. I would highly recommend this tour as it was truly a bucket list experience.
Great trip with my girlfriend. We signed up to see the elephants and do rafting. The staff were super friendly and super accommodating. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to meet elephants and a bit of adventure.
