Welcome to Lanta Thai Cookery School, where you will gain in-depth knowledge and skills in Thai culinary cooking! Since our inception in 2006, we have been dedicated to sharing the authentic flavors of Thailand, led by our main teacher, Aon. With over 40 years of experience, Aon brings outstanding expertise to every class, ensuring that students receive top-notch guidance.
We conduct two classes each day, seven days a week, with morning, afternoon, and evening sessions available. Each program offers a unique selection of dishes for you to choose from. As a participant, you have the freedom to select your preferred type of meat, including chicken, seafood, prawns, vegetarian options, and occasionally beef. Every aspect of the cooking process is hands-on, allowing you to delve into the meticulous preparation, from the initial cutting to customizing spice levels to suit your taste.
Our school is committed to providing a pleasant learning environment. The ingredients used in our classes are primarily sourced from our own garden, ensuring that you experience the freshest vegetables, herbs, and spices. We take pride in making our coconut milk and curry paste right on the premises, further enhancing the authenticity of your culinary creations.
Classes take place in our beautifully designed classic Thai teak house, situated in a tranquil corner of Prae Ae. This serene setting promotes focus and creativity in the kitchen. To make your experience even more enjoyable, we provide two-way transport, welcome drinks, and access to coffee, tea, and water throughout your time with us.
For those looking for a more tailored experience, we also offer private classes, as well as prolonged sessions designed for both professionals and amateurs. In these sessions, you will have the opportunity to master a wide array of Thai dishes from an expert who knows the intricacies of each one.

A group of 4 of us joined a Lunch class at Lanta Thai cooking school. We had a lovely day – we were greeted with a drink and a cook book which we got to take away.We chose 4 different recipes as a class to make. The cooking teacher was brilliant, shows you how to do everything and explains everything thoroughly. Great to have all of your meat / tofu pre-cut, and for each recipe to be tailored to your liking. For example, some of our group took veggies or prawns instead of meat, and one didn’t use any coriander. Would thoroughly recommend, especially as it’s super easy with pick up and drop off!
We highly recommend Lanta Cookery School. Our teacher AON made this 4 hour cookery class to a memorable evening. A good structured program but still a lot of fun and laughter. AONs team worked hard and efficient so everything went smoothly. And not to forget that the food we made was delicious. We will cook Thai food at home tonight!
