I’ve traveled in over 50 countries, and this tour experience with Chan Trekking was the best yet. I was in the 8 day tour described so well by Coastal178479. The tour was perfectly designed by Mr. Chan to meet our group’s requests and needs. Every day (every hour) offered new and delightful experiences. The guides Tri and Sapee were truly exceptional in every way. They enthusiastically shared their local knowledge with us, answering our many questions with color, detail, jokes and smiles. They cooked us 3 fabulous meals each day and entertained us with guitar and singing around the campfire every night.Thank you Chan Trekking, Sapee , and Tri for a truly amazing and most memorable experience!! Highly recommended without reservation.
We stayed the hole Day with Yewen and it was so great! We had so much fun togehter! We was trekking trough the Jungle, over the RiceFields to a local village! We was eating lunch at a beautiful Waterfall where we was Jumping in! Then we was at the Elephant Sanctuary and feed them, after we do bathing them in the River! It was the so Beautiful to see them happy! Thank you for everthing
We did the 3 days trip and loved it! Only on the last day did we see other tourists. The local accomodations were authentic and really nice. Yewen prepared all the meals himself with very little means and in the middle of the forest. Very tasty!
We booked the 3 day trekking tour and had an amazing time visiting the Karen and Lahu tribes , going on a bamboo rafting tour down the river and seeing elephants. Pili is a wonderful guide – THANK YOU!
Not the typical tour for tourists, but a real experience into the Thailandese culture and the villages around ChiangMai. Mr Chan and Yewen (guide) were very kind and we had a great time!Thank you so much!!
Pili (our guide) is an incredible host in this adventure! He makes us feel like home when we were in the middle of the jungle. Thank you Chan and everyone for being such a professionals. I’ll recommend you 100% ?
We joined 2 days tour.Amazing forest walk,a place to stay in the jungle, the rafting was a very nice experience, the road for rafting is so beautiful, the guide was experienced,he has knowledge of the local culture and the places we visited during the tour.we highly recommend this tour, next time we go to Chiang Mail we will contact Chen again for sure!
The trip was well organized. Our guide Sapee as well as the tour operator was wonderful. We had 3 unforgettable days in the jungle.
We went jungle trekking with Chan himself, which was an unforgetable experience. The trekking itself was amazing, we are some incredible fruits. The encounter with the elephants in the river was so,so fantastic!! We ended with a bamboo raft trip. Thank you mr Chan for this incredible experience!!
Our friend recommended Chan, and we were not disappointed!Luke and Bum were our guides for our 2 day tour (1 night in the homestay). The river was high due to rainfal, so we were forced to trek along some steep, slippery slopes. Our diabetic friend suffered a hypoglycemic episode, but Luke quickly made a second bamboo walking stick for him and had bananas in reserve. At a dangerous spot they spent 15min hand-carving earthen stairs complete with a bamboo hand rail. Wow, I never witnessed such a thing!Lunches and dinners were delicious and a huge amount of food. We had fried rice with fried chicken, yellow curry, and pad thai.We had the chance to feed and bathe elephants in one of the sanctuaries. And then there was the rafting, which was less wild than expected but a relaxing experience.Overall Luke and Bum were very helpful, had a lot of knowledge about the area (interesting facts about the area, plants, and animals). In 2 days we had many great experiences and Chan’s organisation was spot on.We would recommend Chan and his guides.
The Trek was pretty amazing. It was hard hiking so definitely not for someone looking for a casual hike. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about the jungle, his village culture and Thailand in general. Even though it is peak season we didn’t see any other tourists on our three day trip. It was a full three days, over 8 miles of hiking on day one and two, over 4 miles on day three, plus time with elephants and bamboo rafting. Some of the hiking was not on a trail, which I didn’t care for, but the guides were very competent and I never felt like I was in danger. The food was very good, almost all the vegetables were grown in the villages where we stayed. This has been the highlight of our trip so far. My 15 year old son also loved this trip although he thought it was a bit too much hiking.
Yuewen (“like Kevin but Yevin”), the Crocodile Dundee of Thailand! Chan arranged our 2 day private trek with Yuewen (from the Karen Tribe), such a friendly and knowledgeable man (a pleasure to spend time with)! We did the extended trek on day 1, learning a lot about the mountain/forests – the plants, trees and use thereof. Finishing in his cousin’s house (his was under construction). The family and neighbours were all so welcoming and friendly. Yuewen was a great cook, but made enough for 10people (all with things from the market we stopped at)! Over night was “rustic” for some westerners, but it made you feel part of the culture and the villagers were all so smiley and welcoming. Day 2 we had a superb elephant tour (where Yuewen also works) – feeding, bathing and watching them out in their habitat (eating everything they came across) – lovely animals! Yuewen went out of his way pulling in favours for us to have an amazing experience at the elephant sanctuary. We also met another of Chan’s guides in the village, who was equally friendly. Def worth doing to see and hear history of the country/area/ people.
