I love this food market. It is only 7 mins walking from my hotel. The market is very clean, the sellers/people are very very very nice. The foods are mainly for to go and taste super good. Even i did not speak Thai, they were trying to speak English with me. Again, this is a local food market. You won’t find small/cheap souvenirs. Only food and basic stuff.
We visited here a couple times while doing classes with a cooking school. They have all sorts of food items both raw and prepared. There is a butchery with pork, beef and chickens as well as a fish area. There is a rice vendor with 6-8 kinds of rice. There are eggs, veggies and fruits galore. One corner has a large selection of bottled sauces, tubs of curry and bulk spices. An entire section is dedicated to prepared foods ready to purchase and eat. There are a few vendors that stock beverages. A bakery/ bread store was noted on the edge of the market. I only saw a couple vendors selling non-food items.
Thanin market is a vibrant afternoon to evening market precinct for locals and for that reason will hold some appeal for tourists interested in an authentic local market experience. Take your time and check out the food section with an astonishing array of ready to go meals, fresh fruit and vegetables, sweet snacks, flowers, grains, spices and cooked and fresh fish and meat. Nearby there is another section where you can choose a cooked meal from one of many stalls and join in with the locals and dine on the spot. Some menus are in English but don’t worry, there are plenty of pictures. Just grab a stool, make eye contact, smile and it will all turn out. We had several excellent and very cheap meals enhanced by various sauces and chilis on offer along with iced water made from bottled water.Wander the surrounding shops just for fun and don’t be surprised if you find something practical that you needed. We bought a hat and men’s sneakers. What a bargain!
I know this market for long time. It is normal size local market and you can get almost everything there which in my case I love to buy my veggies from there. Although the prices are a little bit higher than other markets but if you live near by then it won’t hurt you to spend few pennies for your own comfort. I also Love the Chiangmai Local Sausages that are sold there that are truly to die for ( specially if you can get the newer ones ). Highly recommended market in you are anywhere near by Nimman road or Santitam Zone.
the market is near the hotel we stayed there have alomsot everything at the market, fresh veg, ready to eat food, the market is clean compare to the other market in Chiangmai. We purchase an exotic veg which only can grow from the cool temp and bring it back home.I recommend a bowl of congee in the morning with chinese donut which si good to start a day.
This wet market gives you a local experience of shopping for food. Things are super cheap esp. pork. My parents love the experience. And if you are staying at somewhere with a kitchen and you wish to cook somehow, this is a good place to get your ingredients.
Covered ตลาด positioned around cinco minutes norte de Chiang Mai, where el suelo and las encimeras are unbroken tile making them very straightforward to clean and maintain. So great hygiene in a ตลาด which specialises in foodstuffs – mainly prepared items including แกง, stir fries and grilled dead တိရိစ္ဆာန်။ Very little ภาษาอังกฤษ labelling so you’ll need to be careful if you’re เจ/သက်သတ်လွတ်/vegano, since even a lot of the stir fries for instance have bits of dismembered animals ဟင်းသီဟင်းရွက်များအောက်မှာရှိတယ်။ One end of the covered mercado is devoted to fresh produce – ผัก y သစ်သီး – but in my experience their presence isn’t always as regular as the prepared foods vendedores. No hay asientos.
