We had a great day at the Doi Lom Elephant Rescue Sanctuary. Run by Tony and his family, they have rescued 3 wonderful elephant, two females and one male.The tour wasn’t the touristic kind (only 10-12 people), which we loved.Tony explained us how we started the sanctuary, and what the elephants suffered.During the half day we prepared some of their food, fed them and went for a short walk. We really enjoyed connecting with the elephants and the nice surroundings. The whole staff was very kind and friendly, and we finished the tour with a nice home made meal. Thank you for taking care of the elephants and for the great experience!
Wonderful experience with beautiful ladies elephants, we had so much fun and interactions with them, amazing souvenir for our family of 5 with teenagers!And also very reassuring ethically speaking so all good to goThey really left us with great joy, go for it if you have the chance !
Family run business and absolutely brilliant experience. Gentle, friendly, happy elephants who are looked after by people who really care. Only 3 elephants here now but that means groups are very small and you get lots of time with the elephant. Our teen boys really enjoyed it too. Our hotel called and we booked for the next day. The centre picked us up, fed us and brought us back too! An experience we will certainly never forget. HIGHLY recommend.
Had a brilliant day went with my husband and two sons and another family. We learnt to make medicine for elephants then got taken for a walk with all 3 elephants who were just lovely, and got to feed them and wash them. The staff were lovely and really helpful we finished our day off with pad Thai watermelon and a bottle of water.Fantastic experience!Special thanks to tony doi lom!
A morning or full day adventure with Toni from Doi Lom Elephant Rescue is a must do on your visit to Thailand – located between Chaing Mai and Pai.The schedule was organized very well and included close and personal encounters with the rescued elephants. We had the opportunity to make their healthy herbal food and even feed them by hand ! We learnt about the elephants and their needs. The hike to waterfall is also a once in a lifetime opportunity. We literally hiked on and across the rocks in the flowing river before enjoying time bathing under the waterfall.Our guide on the hike was excellent, he knew every rock and gave me a lot of confidence.
Everything was just perfect! We came as a couple and were a part of a small group of six. The driver picked us up from our hotel in chiang mai in the morning. The way to the sanctuary was very beautiful, and we stopped on the way at a local market. The experience itself was truly amazing: we helped make food, medicine and showered with the elephants. The guide was very nice and spoke very good English. At the end he took us to a beautiful waterfall and we ate pad thai.
The best experience with elephants in Chang Mai you could find!!This is a small elephants farm owned by a nice family, and therefor (what is the best of all) the hosts are dedicated to you and your interaction with 3 elephants. You will prepare food for the elephants, feed and walk with them and the best of all “swim” with them. Staff is very professional, they speak very good english, and the last but not the least, the food they prepred for us was also tasty. This will be a special memory for all of us.
