Hi there! I took a one day trip, morning 9.00 to evening 16.30, with Satta Tour in Koh Chang to visit 4 small beautiful islands to do some snorkeling. First when I saw how many people there were on the boat I was like “OMG, so many people, this is not going to be great” But when the trip started… I loved everything about it! It’ll take 1.30 hrs to arrive at the first island. They have Thai food for lunch, fruits, coffee water for free, there are snacks too but you have to pay for it. They will also have 2 BBQ sticks at the end of the trip for you to enjoy. The staffs are super nice, friendly and funny! Very helpful! The water is very clear, you can see thousands of fishes swimming around you! Amazing!!For the summary, I loved every part of it! I would definitely go again when I have time. If you’re interested, please try! You’ll enjoy it as well.
This is one of the cheaper options for a snorkeling tour on Koh Chang, and not a luxury experience, but still a very good deal. My main complaint would be the rather rough ride they provide between your accommodation and their pier, on a wooden bench in the back of a pickup truck crammed in with about 10 people. But this seems to be a pretty standard mode of transportation on the island so I can’t really fault them for that specifically. Other than that, the boat was good and so was the food (curry for lunch and a grilled meat skewer + fresh fruit as an afternoon snack). Snorkeling equipment was also fine, and there were plenty of beautiful fish and other sea life to be seen, at least for my girlfriend and I who are not experienced snorkelers or divers. You don’t get any information about what your seeing or guidance about where to go or what to look for, but staff were friendly and swimming conditions were safe. All in all we had a very enjoyable day and were glad we didn’t opt for one of the more expensive operators.
We really enjoyed this tour, with nice staff and ok snorkling. Good food and atmosphere, we all liked it, 6 person family.
Satta tour was really nice for family, mixed. Locations/islands nice. Instructors on the boat helpful and sweet. One guy snorkeled with our kids and showed them à LOT. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Food fruit water incl, and other stuff to buy on the boat .
It was really worth to go. Fantastic staff, good food, fine views. My only complaint is about boat motor non-stop. We made 4 stops, for swiming, 45 minutes each. The motor of the boat did not stopped in each one, that is, 3 hours working for nothing, or better, for polute the water and the air surrounding us.Is this really necessary??
Ok snorkling trip. Three stops woulg have been enough. First three spots were fine. Two snorkling and one beach for walking and swimming. Last one was unnecessary and low quality. Would be better to stay longer at beach. Would be less boating between spots also. Maybe they think more is more….
This isn’t a “first class speedboat tour” of the islands (it’s more economy class….) so I wouldn’t give it five stars overall, BUT I would definitely give it 5 stars for value. We spent about $28 each for an all day boat tour (10 AM to 5 PM) of 4 islands with snorkeling at three places, and a pretty good lunch and snacks on the boat. The lunch was a green curry, a stir fry, noodles and rice. It was pretty good, but if you are vegetarian be aware that you can’t specify a vegetarian meal. The only vegetarian options were the rice and noodles, as well as the fruit snack later on.Be aware that the ticket price includes the transfer from your hotel and back, the boat tour, flotation vests (if you need that) and the mask and snorkel only.If you want swim fins, you have to pay a fee of 100 baht (less than $3) to rent fins for the day. We didn’t feel like we needed fins, though, because the protected areas that we snorkeled in really didn’t have strong currents to deal with, and the sea was fairly calm. Also, they don’t provide towels or sunscreen, so take those things along with you. They have water on the boat that you can drink, but take a water bottle as they only have small paper cups for drinking. If you want bottled water, snacks, or beer on the boat, you can purchase those items on board at very reasonable prices ($1 to $2)Definitely take some cash in Thai baht for purchases and a tip at the end of the day.Our boat had about 30 people on board, and didn’t really seem crowded as the boat was fairly large. The boat had two ladders, so getting on and off were fairly easy and didn’t take long. The service was very good and we had an enjoyable day. Each stop at the snorkeling areas or the private beach were about 45 minutes each, so we had plenty of time to enjoy each stop along the way. The first two snorkeling stops were small islands that you could easily swim around with lots of sea life to enjoy. The one spot that we did not snorkel was the beach stop, but some people took their masks and snorkels to the beach to swim around. The last stop was a beach and coral area that was not our favorite place with a little cloudy water and not much to see. It’s a really great value for a full day of island exploration and snorkeling!
4 island snorkeling tour, cost 900 baht. Friendly staff that will explain things in English. Nice snorkeling locations. However, a lot of people were very disrespectful of the reef and didn’t have good etiquette. They were splashing about and knocking into other people and standing on the reef. I think the tour company should have explained that this is not acceptable. Too many people in the boat = crowded. No vegetarian options at lunch. Free coffee was nice though. I’m glad to have snorkeled here but I wouldn’t do it again.
Don’t hesitate to book Satta tours! They are incredible! We went to four different islands, and saw so many beautiful color fish. It was such an amazing experience I will never forget. They also provide and awesome lunch and snacks throughout the tour. Not only is the tour itself 10/10 but the crew is awesome too. I felt like we had even become friends by the end of the tour. I would take the tour again in a heartbeat! Ball is also the #1 boat driver in the world
Sad part:2000 Thai Bhat was stolen from my wallet when we went for dive. Received no help from the guide.Pros:-Value for money. 1000 Bhat = 700 Bhat + 200 Bhat (national park fee) + 100 Bhat (swim Fin hire charge)-inclusive of Thai food and snacks.Cons:-very basic boat-almost no instruction from the guide-corals and the sea life were not very impressive as compared to Egypt or Australia Organizer: koh Chang Sattra 4 Island tourDate: Jan 30
