We were stumbling upon this place and we had greatest time. They located quite far from popular area like white sand beach but believe me… visit there. It is worth it if you like quite and calm place to kayak. I asked the owner, they have this business for about 12 years. Run by villagers, not some big company. They live like family there. Price there is very very cheap too.Resraurant there is also nice and good price too.If you have time to spend in koh chang, please not just visit main beach or shopping, this unseen place is unbelieveable.
Only THB 200 for 1 kayak (2 pax), you can paddle along mangroove to the estuary. Quite tired but it was gopd experience and exercise. Travellers also hire the small ship waterman instead of yourself paddle, but the price is double.
Depending on where your beach resort is and what transport you have, this place on the east side of the island can be a long way to go, but well worth once you get there. We were staying on Baan Kai Bee and had our own car but it took us 1 hour and 10 mins. But once we got there, as you can see from the pictures, definitely worth it. B200 per kayak for two persons per hour. Kayak past the fishing village, alongside the mangrove roots, into the inland lake and back. Good thing for adults and teenagers. The east side of the island is much less tourists, very few resorts, more green and more Thai. A good day out.
We hired a wooden Thai boat and a driver for Salak kok boat trip. The boat trip took about 45 minutes. It cost us 400 Baht ( 200 Baht per person). The bay views were beautiful. We saw a few falcons at the bay.
Visited this place with my wife and daughter and really enjoyed the 45 min local Thai boat trip across the mangrove.Advice to go in the morning to keep fresh air. People are really kind and trip quite affordable at 500 thb.. Recommend if u come to Koh Chang
