Salakphet Mangrove Walkway is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 23170, Thailand
Run down boardwalk with many prices of wood missing and making entire trip somewhat dangerous. There is no entry fee, place looks pretty much abandoned. It takes a while driving on unpaved and narrow road, to finally reach the entrance.Mangrove Forrest itself is quite nice and untouched with nice vistas over mountainous landscape of Koh Chang. If only, local authorities would take better care of this place, it does have a potential.
Worth a visit if you’re in the area. The walkway is in pretty bad shape, you no longer can get to the end since all the planks are gone. The beginning part is in decent shape though and opens up some amazing views across the mangroves.
Found the Mangrove walkway while out on on my scooter. Need to drive on some rocky and dirt road to get to the entrance then you find the walkway. Many of the planks are broken or damaged and the pier is almost totally gone. The the views are very pretty but I wish someone would clean it up
We went there on April 21st and were a little bit disappointed because unfortunately, the walkway is under construction till September 2019. You are still able to walk roughly five minutes and take some pictures. Nonetheless, it was a lovely road to drive there with a scooter and well worth the visit.
Must visit this beautiful project on the south east side of Koh Chang. It has what is called the Red Bridge, which takes you around the mangroves and also to a scenic view point.. Lots of flora around. Perfect for nature lovers
Very unusual place, well worth an hour or two. You walk in a very special environment on a walkway, careful as some boards are broken. Recommended to walk the whole way to the sea.
A nice place to see a mangrove forest and sea creatures. The bridge is slightly old so beware where you step. Bring sun protection, it can be very hot during the day.
You don’t have to pay for admission. It’s a nice place with great spots.Of course, the floor has come of age and there are also missing wooden parts but that brings a certain kick, evening adventure. For people who are difficult to walk are not suitable. Otherwise great place to take pictures.
