  1. Our tourist map of Koh Chang clearly showed Wai Chaek Beach, right in the middle of the southern coast of the island. But a footnote read: “No road access makes this an idyllic deserted beach – if you can find a way to get here!”No ones to dodge a challenge we solved it by taking our hotel’s kayak on neighbouring Klong Kloi Beach and paddling around the headlands to Wai Chaek Beach. With two of us paddling in tandem it took about 35 minutes to reach this totally deserted and secluded beach. Sooner rather than later a developer is going to push a road down to here and start building a resort, but we got here first! One end of the beach is rocky and stony, but the other has a delightful stretch of golden sand.As we paddled down the coastline we marveled at the national park rain forest hugging the very edges of the coast, and saw a large old wooden hulk of a shipwreck washed up on the rocky shores.

  2. Amazing hidden beach with virtually no one else there. We hired a moped (the hirer said no off road… oops sorry!) to get there and the journey is an adventure in itself! The route is sketchy and takes some balls in places so not for the faint hearted! The beach is definitely worth the journey! Not going to tell you how as part of the fun is finding it for yourself (directions can be found online) and if everyone knew it wouldn’t be as isolated. One note, there’s not much shade so worth taking something to rig up If you can carry it and are planning spending lots of time there in the heat of the day.

  3. A touch of paradise, no people, only nature, sea, sand and You.Hard to get by motorcycle or scooter, road (if You will find one) is in very bad condition, with a lot of up and down hills. If you are not good in driving, or your scooter is not so powerful better come from sea side on kayak. We personally saw motorbike out of road overthere, so wath out

  4. Stumbled upon this beach by accident after turning off the main road near to the junction for Salak Phet Harbour, riding up through a red & white barrier next to a little gatehouse and negotiating a quite treacherous mountain road by motor scooter. I would only recommend attempting this journey to those who are quite competent riders, as the road is bad in many parts having been washed away by the mountain rains. The road is undulating with steep, gravel parts where maintaining grip can be a problem. However, if you are capable of navigating the difficult road right to its very end, then turning off on to a dirt track through the forest, then through a dry, rocky river bed (which I suspect is flowing during rainy season) you will discover a delightful little sandy beach with a wonderful surprise at one end. Enjoy.

  5. We rented a kayak and paddled out here. There were max 10 people at the beach when we got there. A beautiful, truly lonely beach where nobody tries to sell you anything, or tries to hustle you into a party. Here you are alone (as alone as it gets). We took the liberty to sunbathe in the nude and skinnydip in broad daylight. Nobody seemed to mind and there were 2 other people doing the same thing. There was a bit of trash on the beach but that’s because there isn’t anybody to pick up the trash that floats ashore. So if you go, do a good deed a take a bag of trash with you to leave this beach cleaner than you found it!

  6. We went there by bike from Ban Salak Phet… steep up and down. But when we got there by about 10 AM, we were along. Only later some speed boats from the west side of Koh Chang, but no crowd.

  7. This is a superb beach! So why only a 3 star rating?Because I love sunsets and I prefer long beaches.I love strolling at sunset, I love jogging at sunrise, and on this beach this not possible. On the other hand, if you prefer tranquility, if you like the feeling of being far from everything, then this might be the right beach for you.The trees along this beach are beautiful and everything there creates a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. It is just that I prefer the sunsets…

  8. When I visited this beach for the first time, it was very beautiful. This time, 7 years later there was lots of plastic waste (see pictures). Apparently someone has collected trash from the beach but no-one transports it away from the site, so there are piles of waste. Boat trip operators stop there and tourists sunbathe in between plastic bottles, styrox, empty food bowls etcQuite a depressing beach experience, but I guess it reflects the state of the ocean. It would be easy to transport waste off the beach with a boat.

  9. Beautiful beach with jungle surrounding. I have read a lot about the waste on the beach. Don’t know if I was lucky but I didn’t see any waste on the beach. I see what people mean about the road, yes it’s not great but doable with care. All in all I enjoyed the adventure to Wai Chek Beach.

  10. We found ourselves at a stunning wild beach early in the morning, around 9 a.m. By 10, the area buzzed with yachts and excursion boats, but their stay was brief—just a quick 20 minutes for shopping and sailing. As noon approached, the beach was blissfully empty, leaving us in peaceful solitude. After 1 p.m., the scene shifted again, with bikes and more tour groups arriving. Our journey to the beach was an adventure itself, traversing a dry riverbed that would surely pose a challenge in the rainy season. This hidden gem is a must-visit, though I couldn’t upload any photos to capture its beauty!
