I bought three suits by Mr Peter he was verry good in measurements and fitting the clothing.He offered that i can place the order on the email and he sends suits to my home. Peter did an excellent job in helping us; I had been given some Burmese material that I wanted making into a skirt, and he also helped us choose suitable material and a style for a blouse to go with the skirt. His experience enabled him to make suggestions whilst still allowing us the choice. Following the efficient and friendly service we received for me, my husband decided he would have a pair of trousers made. Our requirements were taken into account, and Peter produced a beautiful material in the colour we wanted. The fitting for these was within 24 hours and the final product was ready in 48 hours. The whole experience exceeded our expectations, and was made extremely easy for us by Peter’s skill and also fluency in English. We would certainly recommend Thapae Couture Master Tailor, as a great place for both men and women to get clothes made or altered, and we will certainly be back when we need something else! Excellent job!
I came home with a very nice sportcoat and a great pair of trousers. I definitely recommend this place. The reason I don’t give five stairs is that I had to push a little to get them to make some small alterations on the trousers after the fitting, which made me feel like they were less than fully committed to customer satisfaction and/or would rather not do some extra work. I could be wrong, and perhaps it was a genuine disagreement – but if so, they gave not great advice. That said, during the initial selection they were very patient and did not push me too hard to buy anything I didn’t want. I was also a little disappointed that they did not respond to my emails asking if the work was done, but the turnaround was definitely quick.My overall impression was they are among the better tailors in the area.
Mr Peter helped me select colours and suit cuts. He was very quivk and efficient and gave me the material that I asked for as well as alot of recommendations on colours and suit care.
I only have marvellous affection words to describe Master Tailor Peter and his family business. His devotion for perfecting tailor suit and love for his work have no limits, his suits, shirts, ties are just a piece of art with a fit price.Thanks man!

Having visited many tailors, over many years in South East Asia, Thapae Couture was a truly great experience.A family run business who were warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. With helpful advice and suggestions I was thrilled with the resulting clothes, which were produced within 24 hours. I will definitely be using their remote ordering facility in the future.

4 years ago, I had a wonderful experience with this tailor but on my most recent trip, my experience was very unpleasant. Since I was only 4 days in Chiang Mai, the time was tight, but the owner assured me it would be no problem and they could have everything finished. I was measured up, ordered 2 suits and a vest. The owner made an appointment for me to come back the next day for adjustments and fitting. I feel my short tourist time in the city was wasted as over the next 3 days, he kept making appointments. I visited every day, but nothing was ready. The owner had my contact details, but never tried to manage the situation or reschedule. I kept reminding him of my short deadline and he assured me it was not a problem. On the last day just two hours before my departing flight, I was able to try on one of the suits. The quality of this work was so poor. The fabric did not feel good. The seams were badly stitched. Also, the design of the suit was not what we agreed. None of the fitting or alterations had been taken into account. The owner asked me to pay the balance and that he would post the remaining items free of charge. I was not willing to buy items of clothing that I had never seen or tried on. We had an unpleasant argument about it. In the end, I had to leave to get to the airport. I left empty handed. My deposit of 2000-baht was lost and I had nothing to show for it and I believe the owner should have refunded this since he was not able to meet the sale as agreed. In contrast to this, I had a wonderful experience during the same trip with another tailor close to the Night Bazaar. It’s really a case of buyer beware particularly with regard to cash deposits.
They do not understand fabric differences. Tried to get jeans from existing model, looked terrible and didn’t fit. Promised to bring mended jeans to our B&B, and never saw them again. 130$ lost.
