  1. A stop on an afternoon shopping tour. We were able to see the workshops which added perspective to our showroom visit. Most of the products are a traditional celadon green color (a lovely, restful light bluish-green) with different-colored accents: vases, figurines, candle holders, all kinds of tableware, … Just wandering through the showroom was a treat. Prices ranged from very reasonable on up.

  2. We almost didn’t stop here as neither my husband nor myself care much about pottery and had no idea what celadon was. We’re very glad we did as the tour was really interesting, especially watching the artists work on a variety of pieces. Celadon is high-fired stoneware glazed with wood ashes with a mandmade attempt to duplicate jade. It is beautiful. Our guide was gracious, informed, and spoke very good English. The showroom tastefully displays the wide variety of pieces made in their workshops. Prices are very reasonable. They wrapped our purchases very carefully with packaging that would survive the flight home.

  3. My friend and I visited Baan Celadon in March and purchased so much that we had to ship it home! The artistry and craftsmanship on their celadon is gorgeous! We had a great tour to see people hand-carving plates and painting elephants! The pieces I purchased are some of my favorite treasures from my trip. The service was great and every piece was impeccably wrapped for safe shipping to my home! I wish that I had purchased more! Definitely worth a visit while you are in Chiang Mai. It is also located close enough to the silk factory that you will want to make a stop there as well!

  4. We visited Baan Celadon to see their production of traditional celadon ceramics. We were able to enter the workshops and look at the various phases of production and the techniques used. To my surprise, we also could see the work of some of the artists in the studios. Baan Celadon leaves these artists free to develop their own style and to research innovative ways to produce ceramics. In the show room we could admire some of their work, which is amazing! This was a real treat and a great learning experience!

  5. Wandered in while walking part of Sankampang Road, and definitely recommend this as a destination for this area. A wide variety of very beautifully crafted pieces of pottery, which are lovely to admire even if you don’t wish to purchase anything. There is a discount sale area out the back too.

  6. I purchased here 3p years ago and was hoping they still made one of the peices I bought because I broke it but naturally they have the one I didnt break. The use to have just the natural green classic celadon color for all their products but they have expanded to blue as ns also painted designs on their ceramics. The additional coloring is just beautiful. Worth going to see

  7. We came to Chiang Mai years ago and bought my mom 2 beautiful elephants for her birthday. So I just had to come back this time to get some more.Beautiful showroom filled with green coloured Celadon ceramics – elephants, vases, plates etc. There are also blue pieces and a range of colourful vases. Staff are friendly and helpful and if you buy a few items, they will give you 10% off. For larger items, they will also ship to your home.

  8. Driver too us here after visiting Sticky Waterfall & Umbrella factory. (Ceramics factory was closed that day). The lady at the shop took us to the back to see the process making of Celadon wares. I never heard of Celadon before this, but now know the difference from Ceramics. Very informative visit and beautiful Celadon pieces available for sale. The hand painted ones were super beautiful but expensive for our budget. We enjoyed this visit. Worth checking out if u like vases and homewares!

  9. The work is of exquisite quality. The store has two parts one is a full showroom and the second is an outdoor area with seconds. Those who work there are very helpful and speak excellent English. The can easily ship purchases. Worth a detour!

  10. The factory was closed due to a holiday, and that was sad for me. But the showroom is amazing. I was hosted by a lovely woman who explained a great deal about celadon . There are, of course, the usual production pieces…cups, bowls, plates, sauce dishes…., each of which was beautiful. However, the individually painted and larger pieces were what amazed me. One of a kind! So intricate! Also, they have several tables of “seconds” behind the show, but I couldn’t tell those from the first quality pieces! This place is well worth a long visit, and perhaps you’ll be able to get a peek into the factory.
