  1. Thanks to the great crew at Moskito Diving. We arrived on Phi Phi with my 17 year old daughter, Ali, anxious to get her SCUBA certification. We chose Moskito because of the great reviews it got. I am a divemaster and wanted to be able to take part in my daughter’s dives. We only had 6 days on Phi Phi and wanted to spend as much time as possible together. Manager Jan, a very pleasant Brit, and instructor Tim, a Canadian, were completely comfortable with working the training to allow my wife and I to hang out. On the first day of theory and some confined water skills, we hung out on the beach watching. The next day was boat dives. My wife is not a diver, so Jan and Tim, encouraged her to join the dives as a snorkeler. I joined her and did two nice snorkeler tours, along with a Danish couple. Day 3 was the open water dives with minimal skill training. My wife chose to use that day for a hike and I joined Tim and Ali, for a couple of dives. We did Bida Nai and Bida Nok; both dives were fantastic! Tim said the visibility was not as good as it could be, but I sure wouldn’t complain. We saw a black tip shark, a couple of different Moray eels, an immense cloud of yellow snapper, barracuda, beautiful anemone and clown fish, and a whole array of tropical fish you would expect.I was a little leary about the quality of training that would be offered at a vacation dive centre, having heard stories of unreasonable fast tracking. At Moskito, no worries, no shortcuts. The classroom time was thorough and the care and patience Tim took with Ali was great. The professionalism carried through to the boat, captain and crew. I was impressed how Tim and the captain would discuss what sites to go to depending on conditions, with Tim obviously deferring to the Thai Captain’s knowledge of the sea conditions and currents. The Captain and boat boy had an eye on the divers and snorkelers. As soon as we surfaced, the boat would be heading to pick us up, allowing us to work with the currents. I can’t thank the Moskito crew enough for the friendly, professional service we received. In hanging around and coming and going, we met most of the staff. Aside from Jan and Tim, I have to thank the rest of crew, friendly and professional, especially poor Nellie and Gary, who seemed to be stuck with the job of entertaining the annoying parents.

  2. My boyfriend and I arrived on Phi Phi after travelling a couple of weeks all over Thailand. Anxious to go snorkeling/free diving, we started visiting the different diving shops. If they didn’t get a hold of us first, with their sometimes offensive sales pitching when you walk by. Nevertheless, we asked to go on the diving boat as free divers – not possible was the answer. And not possible in any of the diving shops, we were told. Until we came across Moskito Diving, recommended to us by an Irish couple we met earlier on our trip. And were we lucky.First of all, Moskito Diving’s employees are experienced serious people, who are interested in providing the best possible experience for you. The other diving shops on the Island are more interested in the sale, than in the experience itself. And in some of the other shops, we met some very young nice instructors – but with almost no diving experience at all. My boyfriend is an experienced wreck diver, so for him is was somewhat scary to witness. We had in total 3 trips with Moskito Diving to the most popular diving sites around Phi Phi Lei – all trips well organized and with great spirit! The diving boats all go to the same places, so which one you choose should depend on who you are: If you’re looking for that xtra something, don’t hesitate to go to Moskito. As a small bonus, Moskito Diving brings food from Anna’s Restaurant on all their trips :-). Anna’s, being one of the best dining places on Phi Phi.

  3. We were 3 diving novices who were looking to have a safe experience whilst having a great time. We can not recommend Moskito highly enough. Excellent people who provided the ultimate experience, will definitely come back to them again and be telling friends and family to come see them!!!! Thank you guys again for an amazing day!!

  4. I got my PADI Open Water Diving Certificate with Moskito and it was an awesome experience! Gary Flax was my instructor and he is super personable and overall a great instructor. He was extremely flexible with my schedule and he was genuinely interested in making my first diving experience an awesome one. If you get your open water certificate with Moskito I highly recommend you ask if Gary is available. He did a great job of easing any nerves I had about diving and if I needed extra help or didn’t understand something he would be extremely patient until I was able to grasp each concept. Being a diver is all about safety and Moskito and Gary always operated with safe diving practices and I was never pushed to do something I didn’t want to do. During the open diving portion We dove near Koh Phi Phi at the diving sites called Bida Nok, Palong, and Malong. Gary r woot knew the dive sites well and despite relatively poor visibility we saw an octopus, a barracuda, several awesome shrimp and other wildlife. If you go to Koh Phi Phi and want to dive or get any certifications I 100% recommend Moskito and Gary Flax if he is available. You will not be let down!

  5. I’ve done my first dive with Moskito diving and I did really enjoy this experience. Our instructor, Ravier was from South America and was very friendly.Koh Phi Phi is such a beautiful place to dive, so I finally pass my PADI Open Water with them. They have an international team, speaking English, French, Spanish, Italian.A great thanks to the team and the beautiful experience they gave me!

  6. I dived with this dive shop for the first time over 17 years ago, and had great service from them. Unfortunately, they are no longer around. I tried Island Divers instead and did 5 dives in 2 days, which were amazing dives. Highly recommended.
