When we booked James we were not sure what to expect. We have never shot with animals before so this was a completely new experience for us. Right from when we met him, James made us feel at ease. The best part is because he has been working so closely with the elephants at Chai Lai, even they adore him and that made our shoot 10x better. He took us to several different locations and got all the shots so quickly- it made us wonder how the pictures would turn out. But when we saw the final pictures – we were shocked! WOW is not the word- these are probably our favourite pictures yet and we are so glad we hired James for the shoot. We highly highly recommend it if you are planning to stay at Chai Lai.
Anyone with a toddler knows that the only thing that is consistent is the unexpected. Even with a toddler with what we later found out to be a 100+° fever, James found a way to capture calm and tranquil moments in the midst of the chaos and we are forever thankful for the memories he captured. We were hoping for a few good shots because our girl was so fussy, but he delivered hundreds of wonderful pictures. I could not recommend him more to work with. We look forward to future family shoots with him whenever we’re in Chiang Mai! He is worth every single baht!
James is so unbelievably talented! We had a photo session with him at Chai Lai Orchid with the elephants. He captured some amazing photos of us. I am so glad we booked him for a session. He was great communicating from the first contact through the final pictures (and then even after that because I accidentally deleted the file he sent me 🙄, so he sent them again!) He was super friendly and made us feel at ease during the photo session. His photos really showed our excitement of our experience visiting with the elephants. We booked a half-day photoshoot with James for our Pre-wedding & boy was it magical. It was everything we had hoped for and MORE. We booked James DLC Photographer a year out in advance, there was fast & clear communications. His whole team was a Dream, everything was meticulously arranged upon our arrival, we arrived in Chiang Mai & met up with the amazing makeup artist to try on traditional Lanna outfits. The makeup artist came to our hotel around 6:00 am for hair & makeup, got us dressed, the luxury Van with Driver awaited at our lobby around 8 am & we all headed to Chai Lai Orchid. We were greeted by James & the MAGIC happens. James is truly an Artist & a master at the craft he does, it’s not just a photo, but captured pure happiness & forever memories . The photos truly speak for itself. Do not hesitate to book James & his professional Team. We came back & looking back at these photo brings so much JOY & it is absolutely priceless experience. James was incredible to work with and we are so happy with our photos! We wanted to experience the elephants at Chai Lai and being able to document everything through his photos is so special to us (we went as part of our honeymoon, so the photos are an extra special keepsake). James is amazing – very friendly, easy going, and professional. We received 400+ photos in just a couple days, which is way more and way quicker than we were imagining. The photos were such high quality! We did not stay at Chai Lai but James had a driver pick us up from our hotel – the whole experience was so smooth and easy. One of the coolest things we did on our trip.. 1000% recommend!
James was the photographer for our Buddhist wedding in chai lai orchid. He was amazing, super prepared, knew how to made us laugh and relax during the photo session.. beyond the beautiful pictures, we found a great human being.
My husband and I went for our honeymoon in April 2023 and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint! He is very professional and you can tell that he truly has a passion for what he does. He is very good handling the elephants and you can tell that he cares about them. Our pictures came out phenomenal are were a staple of our trip! We will be going back in 2025 specifically for Chai Lai and James!!

James took us on an all day adventure to experience waterfalls, spend time bathing with elephants in the river, early breakfast feeling beautiful elephant girl, and we ended our magical journey visiting a hidden temple.
