Fantastic to drive on a motocross trough Koh Lanta. Shad shows you small villages deep inside the island, also cool dirt roads and stops at some small cafes for water.. amazing views and different areas to drive in.. he also takes pictures for you, but be sure to bring a go pro on the helmet so you can remember the whole drive!
Highly recommended for experienced drivers, although you dont have to worry if you are not. You get all the gear needed, water and snack. The guide is really nice man with passion for his work. He can teach you from scratch and then suit the road for your skills, explaining your bad doings for your improvement all along. You get to go to the jungle with various type of roads, also to the beach. The ride takes around 3 hours and you get nice meal after and lot of pictures from the trip.
Excellent ride around the island and through trails of different terrains. Beach play was cool too…shade is an excellent guide and knows his trails.. very chilled guy and taught me how to ride in sand (which was new to me)… will go back if I’m on the island for sure… 5 out of 5 stars from me 🤟🙏🔥
Best activity for off-road lovers in Koh Lanta. Shade is very experienced, kind and had the right amount of carefulness and throttle to challenge me but not give me to much of it. Overall. Must fun I had in Thailand so far. 10/10 would and will recommend to anybody. Thanks Shade!
All in all a great experience! Shade knows all the in’s and out’s of the Island. A nice way to see the Island from another perspective rather than driving around with a scooter.Safety-wise, some might argue that there was a lack of precautions. For me, I like the «no-rules, just have fun mentality», so I did not mind.Not the most challenging terrain for experienced riders, but Shade made sure to keep the pace up to make it fun. The tyres were pretty worn out on my bike, so that also added a little bit of extra thrill.Really fun riding on the beach in 6th at full speed!
The guide is very attentive and careful with the riders. The route is nice, some pieces are technical some other are less end more enjoyable.The route is partially jungle and partially road. Balanced combination.Overall exciting and suggested to try out!
Went on a dirt bike excursion today and IT WAS FANTASTIC! Dirtride Lanta is owned and operated by Shade and runs out of Long Beach on Koh Lanta. He’s been doing trail rides for 8 years but covid put things on pause for 2. Now he’s back in full swing. He provides all the protective equipment (all you need is socks and underwear) and bikes and guides you all over Koh Lanta Yai and Noi. He’s an expert rider who tailors the ride and speed to your abilities. And if you think you’re good and you can keep up to him, have at it. You sometimes get close enough to see he’s riding with one hand and taking your picture with the other as you bash through the bush behind him! We’re not talking scooters in the woods here- this is an off-road experience on legit honda dirtbikes. For anyone with some basic riding skills this is a must do!For over 3 hours you pick your way through rubber plantations, rip along hardpacked paths, climb up into the rain forest and if you’re lucky and had some rain you can crash the puddles and splash your buddies! Pretty much every type of path, trail, track, rut, field and forest you can think of. One stop is a looong stretch of beach for speed runs, rooster tails and donuts till you’re dizzy. Stop and guzzle some water, then scoot down a back road to the next trail. The scenery is breathtaking but honestly I was too busy most times to notice. I’ve done a fair bit of riding but not a lot lately so I had it work at it to keep up. Meanwhile Shade’s doing it with one hand… And then just when you think you’ve caught up Shade dodges off in another direction through wide slapping palms, through a cow pasture and onto another track. At the end of the ride I was exhausted, exhilarated and happy as a clam. The icing on the cake was a delicious homemade lunch when we returned. This has been the highlight of my trip. Best 2000 baht I could have spent. I highly recommend it to anyone who rides even a little bit, and likes a different, exciting excursion away from the crowd. Shade runs a safe tour, will go as fast or as slow as you want, and provides the very best experience you can have on the island! My only regret is I didn’t have a GoPro to capture the whole ride. Had an awesome morning riding with Shade. The route really takes you over different terrain with some really nice scenery. Shade adjusts to your skill level so whatever your experience, you’ll have a good ride. Challenging sandy tracks and some good open throttle sections… hard to beat!!
Toured around the island today with my brother and Shade, had a great experience. First time dirtbiking through trails and Shade kept things at a good and fun pace. All gear necessary provided and included lunch as well!
