  1. We did the 2D1N trek (2 days 1 night) . This involves the first day a trek of 14.5 km which you need to be ready as there are some uphill parts. The second day is an easy mostly downhill trek of 8 km. You will come across many rice fields, corn fields, banana trees, and pineapple plants. Also stunning hill tops we nice views. We went end of April and Luckily there were a lot of shadowed paths that helped with the heat. We saw some burned fields but not a lot and the views were quite clear. At around 14.00 in the first day you will arrive at a waterfall which was much needed. We got to experience living with the Akha tribe at Armue homestay! This meant drinking their rice whiskey, cooking together, sitting together. The dinner we were offered was so gooooooood ! The village was full of playful children. The second day started with a nice breakfast. And for lunch we cooked in the field, chicken on the fire and steamed rice in a bamboo piece .We also passed the labour tribe were we ate lychees from the trees and were lucky to taste wild honey . Also ended at a relaxing hot spring with a private bath. One of the most authentic experiences ever. Everything we ate was pure and fresh. We learned about different plants.A few notes- During the trek take only some minor essentials. Yours bags will be brought to the place you are staying.- at the homestay you can shower and there is a toilet- Make sure you have sturdy shoes- on warm days , the 1st trek you meed 2 litters of water.- Long trousers are handy as you walk through plants some times ( we wore shorts and it was ok )

  2. We did the 3D2N trek which comprises a 14.5km first day and a ~9km second day. We went mid June and the views were incredible, although it was really warm. The homestay we stayed in had extremely inviting owners and the residents of the village were also so kind! What really made the trip special was our guide Sun, who was always so accommodating and would go above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying the trek and felt comfortable. He is amazing with people and is so proud of his culture (he knew the answer to every single curiosity I had about northern Thai life). He speaks amazing English and is also very good at French. I spent hours just talking to him about his life story and he was so curious about life in other parts of the world. Although overall the trek was amazing, I’d say what really made this a special experience was Sun, and his big heart!

  3. Such an amazing and authentic experience! It’s not for the faint of heart but our guides Woot and Pisan made sure we were comfortable the entire time and offered as many rest stops as the group needed. It was definitley quite the adventure and our guides let us try some of the vegetables, herbs and fruits growing along the path. The views were stunning and our hosts for our overnight stay were very accommodating. We would highly recommend this for the adventurous types!

  4. I did a two day trek with a friend through the rural outskirts of Chiang Rai with our guide Sun. A really nice experience from the beginning through the end. The hike itself wasnt overly difficult in terms of ascent/descent but the heat and humidity make it a challenge. It was very rural, we only saw one other group of trekkers in the entire two days. The home stay we stayed at was very quaint and what you would expect given where we were trekking. Sun was a great guide, he was continually finding us fresh fruit along the way. The cooked meals were some of the best I had in Thailand (believe it or not). Highly recommend for those seeking adventure and willing to stay in a local village. Great company!

  5. Amazing trek with Khun Sun and Khun Wut. They take care of you so well and are amazing chefs. We just had a brilliant time. The scenery is amazing, the waterfall was superb especially lunch which they cook on a fire at the waterfall, the hot springs….endless fun

  6. We went on a 3 day trek with our guide Lou and had a brilliant time. Lou gave us lots of information while we were walking through the jungle about different plants, wildlife and history. We stayed in a small village the first night which was a great experience and enjoyed listening to more stories and history while they cooked us dinner. The second day we walked to a water fall and had a swim and then cooked a fantastic lunch that was cooked from scratch using items we collected on our walk. Our second night we camped with a spectacular view and had another lovely meal cooked by Lou. Our final day finished with another lovely walk through the scenic jungle, and then a short drive to the hot springs for a swim. We had lots of fun on our tour and are very grateful for our guid Lou for giving us a great experience.

  7. We want to book a tour with this company, but I can’t find a working website for this group. Odd, since so many people here say it is great.

  8. My wife and I did a 3 day trekking with Lana Trekking, leaving from outside of Chiang Rai. Our guide Lu was amazing, so knowledgeable of the area, farming, native plants and the local tribe culture. His English was excellent, able to exchange and discuss on so many subjects. His cuisine was exceptional, so authentic, such nice spice. He even prepared us a lunch over a fire, cooking the rice in bamboo segments. Memorable hike, beautiful waterfall and great home stays in local hill tribes. If you are looking for a trek off the beaten path, we highly recommend Lu and Lana trekking!

  9. Guide Sun is the best!! We did a 3day trekking with our 3 children 9 11 and 15 years old and it was a fantastisch experience. The first day was a heavy walk, so make sure to wear good closed shoes with profile and be prepared for wet shoes , mud and fun. We slept at a homestay where we had delicious food. The next day was a bit lighter walk and at the end the most wonderful place to sleep, heavenly view and again fantastisch food, made by Sun and his partner in business Wood, who told his touching story of his life during the walk. When the kids had a hard time, Sun made bamboo guns, showed them special plants, animals or made a joke. This trekking is not for the luxurious kind of traveller, but for us it was one of the highlights of the trip!!!!Het

  10. Excellent tour with Wot! We highly enjoyed every aspect of our private 2 day trekking tour with Wot – he was immensley knowlegdeable and catered for our hiking level and vegan dietary requirements. We both recommend the 2 day trek to anyone who is looking for exhillarating hike, dramatic views, a splash in a secludid waterfall and the expertise of a local. Furthermore, this tour absolutely smashes the price comparison with other trekking tours that we have since been on!! Thank you Wot and the team! You have provided us with a lifelong memorable experience!
