About Sabai Dog

Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Koh Kood, Sabai Dog is more than just a shelter; it’s a testament to compassion and dedication towards canine welfare. This initiative is spearheaded by a devoted husband-and-wife team from Lithuania, who have devoted their lives to rescuing and caring for homeless dogs on the island. With around 700 stray dogs roaming Koh Kood, the couple undertakes the formidable task of helping the most vulnerable among them.

They specialize in rescuing injured and weak dogs, providing them with the medical attention they need, as well as housing and nutrition. Each rescued dog receives love, care, and rehabilitation. The couple is also deeply committed to controlling the stray dog population by sterilizing those they care for. This proactive approach minimizes future suffering and contributes to a healthier dog population on the island.

Visitors are welcomed with open arms to their home, where they can meet the dogs and experience the profound spirit of this compassionate endeavor. Community involvement is encouraged, and those who wish to support their mission can bring dog food, bandages, and essential medications, helping to sustain the ongoing care of these animals. Every contribution assists in ensuring that these dogs receive the attention and treatment they deserve.

Through their tireless work, the couple not only provides shelter for stray dogs but also advocates for broader awareness regarding animal welfare. Each successful rescue story fuels their passion, and they hope to inspire others to join their cause. Sabai Dog in Koh Kood is a heartwarming example of how love and determination can change lives, one dog at a time.

  1. Seb was happy to arrange a time for us to come and visit the dogs he and his wife look after even though they were very busy with their wedding business. Just a Man and his wife trying to make a difference to dogs in need on the island. Well worth a visit if you love and care about dogs. I wish them all the best for the future and hope they continue to make a difference for the dogs of Ko Kood.

  2. I admire passionate people who selflessly put themselves at the service of something really good. Thanks for your immediate help for our furry friend. With your meds he’s bound to get better soon. I hope that more people support your tremendous project with a donation

  3. Today we met the kindest most selfless people doing great work in the face of adversity. They are the subject of much disapproval from locals despite the excellent work they do and the amount they help the Island and it’s four (and three and two!) legged Inhabitants. They work on many projects such as neutering the island’s stay dogs and being there for every dog in need. They go completely out of their way to do the right thing for these beautiful beings with no voice of their own. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here to see the dogs, donate and support. Just remember to book in advance as they are not always in.The dogs are wonderful and friendly as are the brilliant people who run the shelter. Look on their Facebook to see the before and after pictures of the dogs!

  4. Guadian angels for the dogs on Koh Kood! Never met anyone like these 2 humans in my life. There is no vet on the island, but more than thousand dogs…. Those 2 would do anything to help the dogs, even though that means they have to sacrafice their own happiness for the sake of these poor dog souls. Such passionate and loving persons…. I was lucky enough to meet them personally! They both deserve nothing but the best! No one has ever become poor by giving, so let´s support them.. Every little help is welcome and needed!

  5. Today was the hardest day on holidays for me ever!! But it was the Best day also I got to see pure pure kindness at its finest I cried ALL day on and off happy tears and sad tears We showed up ( make sure you ask permission to come to there house ahead of time ) and we basically saw first hand what these AMAZING people do !! We started off bathing the dogs which was so cute and fun and then the bad news came A local Thai resident came with a dog who had just been hit and it was bleeding to death, they had to act quickly so they did !! We took the puppy inside and did everything we could to help with pain and suffering but only so much you can do on the island with NO vets !!! I was amazing at the compassion and love this couple showed for this poor puppy trying so hard to live I had to leave as I was crying uncontrollably and needed a break but what I did do when I left was leave a generous donation (anything helps ) they need food and medical equipment and anything to help the dogs they are doing the BEST they can with what they have !!! But we as tourist need to help as best as we can also and for me that was a donation I thank you guys SO much for what you do for dogs 🐶 You are Brave and noble and I will never forget this day All the best 🐶🐶🐶🐶

  6. After getting in contact via WhatsApp ee visited today for a little bit over 2 1/2 hours, brought some treats (from Bangkok because they don’t sell any dog food on the island) and were able to meet all 24 doggies. What they do is amazing! Their work is precious and so important. It was an amazing experience and they told us the story of everyone of their little babies – we fell in love with all of them. We even went on a short walk 🙂 Those two people are doing everything on their own from feeding, to catching injured or sick dogs, to operating and nursing them. I am really thankful for their hospitality and my husband and I will keep in touch! We absolutely plan to visit again! Until then stay strong! You’re doing the best you can which is so much more than so many other people do. Thank you – keep up the amazing work and thank you so much for having us!

  7. If you like dogs, be sure to drop by. They take care of dogs that can no longer take care of themselves. And they bring food to the dogs they cannot take in every day. Very nice that this couple does so much for the dogs on the island. Be sure to stop by to cuddle the dogs or perhaps even consider adopting one. Any help is welcome.

  8. Great station that helps injured dogs and gives them a chance for life. Definitely worth a visit even if the operators may not have time

  9. An extraordinary couple who love animals, take them in in poor condition, take care of them and introduce them to a new family for some. Spending time with this couple and these 30 dogs should be obligatory for your personal well-being because you come away humbled by these people who devote themselves totally to animals.Congratulations

  10. We arrived and immediately the dogs greeted us with a party 🥳.Some had severe pathologies but all these little people lived together in harmony (30 dogs anyway). The owner of the place told us the story of each dog. Some have had very complicated lives. Today they are spending peaceful days in their new home. Some are already reserved for adoption very soon. It’s true that it was very tempting to adopt a dog but I know it wasn’t reasonable because we travel a lot…My heart was heavy when I left but I was so grateful to this couple who went out of their way for them. BRAVO and thank you 1000 times for them.
