Klong Chao Beach is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 23000, Thailand
I am surprised that no one has reviewed this beach before. Khlong Chao is the “centre point” of Koh Kood actually, in the middle of the island on the west coast. There are several restaurants spread out along the road and up the khlongThe beach is good but not spectacular, it’s a long beach and swimming is good
Klong Chao, for my money, is the best of the beaches that I visited during my stay on Ko Kut, an island on the Thai-Cambodia maritime border. It is also the most popular beach, but is not usually crowded, because it is almost a kilometer long, with white, find sand. It is free of rocks and the turquoise water is crystal clear. And added bonus is that it is free of pushy souvenir vendors. It also home to the up-market and whimsically named Tinkerbell Resort.
We both agreed this is our favourite beach. We didn’t stay near here as it was advertised as the busiest beach on the island. The most we saw at any one time (including us) was twelve peopleGreat snorkelling by the rocks where people park their bikes. Gentle sloping descent into the sea with warm, gentle waves and fish that swim right up to youCome down and watch the sunset then get your dinner in Khlong Chao village
This beach has gorgeous water, and beautiful sand. Having that said, it is the location of expensive-looking resorts, which I personally found slightly tacky. The resort-free area is rather small. On the other end of the beach, the river flows into the sea, and this area is truly stunning and worth a visit.
We have visited the beach in February 2018 and I must say it seemed to be as a jewel in the Ko Kut crown. We were lucky because the tide was low and the beach was very wide. Fantastic break during the day for a walk along the seaside or having a sunbathe or swimming with an access to food and drinks. If you like walking you can reach the point where the river joins the sea or have delicious coffee in the coffee shop at with the point view on the other end of the beach. After having a good time on the beach you can eat yamy yamy meal in the Chill Out Bar. Thai style cousine you will remember but you have to be patient because there is only one lady cooking. I loved the place. It is easy to reach by motorbike, heading south watch the left side of the road. If you have time enough you should see the Klong Hin Bay in the south. When I reached the place I was speechless. Two amazing, relaxing beaches with a walk distance one from another. No crowds…beauliful sand….palm shades…tasty drinks in Koh Kood Cafe ( you can find them in Instagram) ….and massage .Must be there!
We were staying at the High Season Resort and luckily for us Klong Chao Beach was right on our doorstep.During our visit in December 2018, the beach was quite small and when the tide was at its highest the sand was only a very thin strip. It was beautifully clean and the sea was an incredible turquoise colour, especially at the end of the beach where the river flowed into the sea. The water was calm throughout our stay and it felt very safe swimming. Needless to say, the sunsets were stunning.
Pros: It is a great beach for sunbathing and swimming. You have to go a long way from shore before water gets deep, so it’s safe. It’s relatively long so it’s never really crowded. Cons: I always dislike resorts that push their buildings all the way to the beach (this is the case here). Note: High tide during the day, low tide during the night.
This is one of many the great beaches on Koh Kut. Nice sand, shallow water, too shallow perhaps as you have to walk a bit to swim. A few resorts a long the beach.
What a perfect beach with crystal clear blue water. Perfect post card beach and location. Really outstanding. This beach was an absolut highlight.
We came to Koh Kood specifically to visit Klong Chao beach. What should have been an idyllic setting was totally ruined by plastic and garbage continually washed up on the shore. There are several employees cleaning the beach but it is a never-ending task. The water was crystal clear but there were so many floating objects, it took the pleasure away from the moment. The sand was soft and white but sadly ruined by the garbage.Very disappointing.
I highly recommend choosing accommodation on this beach so you have the opportunity to wake up and enjoy it to yourself. This beach is delightful, with fluffy palm trees hanging over the sand, crystal clear water, and it is a great spot to enjoy sunset with a cocktail!
