This place is worth the trip to Thailand all by itself! Incredible teak woodcarving. My shots here are from outside in the courtyard. The most amazing stuff in inside but they won’t allow photos!!
When we saw it first we had the impression that it is a museum. Well it is in a certain way. Antic and new wooden sculptures of Thai and Khmer origin collected and presented in an amazing way. Most are for sale some are not and prices vary but each piece is worth what they ask for. It was not our time buying anything but I already selected a few (in my mind) and will be back for a purchase.
The work is exquisite and I wanted to buy a piece work 17,000 baht, but they were very difficult and rude when I asked them to pack it safely. They started to laugh at me. I have bought art from all over the world and I know how it should be packed safely. In the end I walked away because I didn’t feel comfortable giving them my money. If you intend to buy anything I would look elsewhere for nicer and more welcoming artisans.
