  1. Fantastic experience! We were looking for a cooking class for local, Northern Thai, Lanna cuisine — we learned quite a bit about the culture and loved the food! The class included a walk through their extensive gardens and we learned about the medicinal herbs along the way. Such a welcoming family on a beautiful property. They were also happy to accommodate dietary restrictions (gluten free and pescatarian on my end). Highly recommend!

  2. We visited the Raunkaew-Yanon family home & farm on a tour with G-Adventues/Nat Geo. Not only was this a truly wonderful home & garden tour given by one of the warmest people I’ve ever encountered, but the food that his family prepared for us was out-of-this-world. Not only was it absolutely fresh & delicious, but it was BEAUTIFULLY presented–full of texture & color–arranged so artfully. There must have been at least 15 different taste experiences throughout the “appetizers”, dinner & dessert. I wish I could go back again!!

  3. This was one of the highlights of our trip. Josh and his family were so incredibly welcoming and kind. I loved learning the cook techniques and recipes but also the history and stories of Josh’s family. Wish I had a bigger stomach to eat all the amazing food we made!!

  4. My family had a wonderful time learning about Lanna culture in this beautiful home! We tried traditional teas and were welcomed into this house with open arms. Walking through the garden and doing the cooking class was a great experience — we cooked dishes from northern Thailand, like pork with eggplant and tomato curry, and other delicious dishes like pad Thai (so fun to make our own!), lemongrass soup and a dessert of banana in coconut milk. Everyone was so lovely and welcoming!

  5. The cooking class was all that you could hope for. What I mean by much more than a cooking class was the personal tour of the house and the farm and a history of the family that has lives there for over a century and a half. We were told of the spirit of the house and farm that has decended from the ancestors and guides the actions of the decendants. The house tour and farm tour were wonderful. The welcome from many of the family members was sincere and affectionate. The cooking class was a lot of fun. First the demonstration and then the guidance. We had a lot to of work to do and it was split up so everyone had a chance to chop, dice, pound, cook and support. The 6 items we made were delicious. Give yourself a gift and sign up.

  6. What a fabulous experience!! Toured their home and expansive garden and learned to cook five dishes . Their family is so warm and inviting. This was one of the best parts of our trip to Thailand.

  7. We had a wonderful experience- learning about the family, the farm and ingredients before cooking. Each kitchen was set up with all the ingredients pre measured allowing us to cook 5 dishes. One of the best experiences I ever had!!

  8. This was a great morning/lunch experience. The host family was warm and welcoming and shared many details of their religion and family history. They toured us through parts of their home and family gardens. Our group prepared stir fry lunch that was delicious and authentic. Wonderful experience, highly recommended!

  9. My wife and I were lucky enough to have an evening with the Raunkaew-Yanon family on our honeymoon itinerary while in Thailand, and what an amazing experience it was! Their home, garden, and farm are magnificent. The cooking experience was incredibly hands-on and wonderful. After preparing and cooking our meal, we were left to enjoy dinner in private before departing. This is by far the best cooking experience that we have done!

  10. Amazing! Truly a rare find and one of a kind way to experience this food! We felt like we were part of the family and so at home! I wish I video taped the whole experience! So much to learn, see, FEEL, and of course taste! I don’t want to give any of the surprises away but you will love it too!

  11. I highly recommend this unique Thai cooking and cultural experience. It was one of the highlights of our trip. We got to learn about the history, religious beliefs, and traditions of this Lanna family. We saw their garden full of fresh vegetables, various fruits, spices, and herbs. Then you get to enjoy a private cooking class. The chef who instructed us spoke excellent English, was entertaining and personable, and kept us fully engaged. It was really fun!! And, they were very accommodating to our dietary preferences and spice level. We learned how to prepare some popular Thai dishes. And then enjoyed eating the delicious lunch we created! At the end, you get a link to the recipes, which is great as I’m really inspired to cook these again at home.

  12. One of my absolute favorite experiences in Thailand. We spend time learning about background of the family, we learned to cook 6 different meals and then got to eat our deliciously guided cooking! Honestly so much fun, eating organic food from the garden we walked around with. Amazing hosts and chefs and so friendly

  13. This is both a cooking experience and a cultural learning opportunity. The family that opens their home and gardens/farm to you has been on that site for 6 generations and they speak about their beliefs as well as their history and food. You do a tour of the beautiful property . It is amazing. You get hands on experience making curry paste, eggplant with minced pork, Pad thai, and more! Highly recommend!
