  1. You can take a very cheap boat to koh larn from pattaya. Very beautiful nature and clear water away from all the noise. Definitely worth the visit.I got so lucky because normally it should be raining in June but sky was clear and i had an amazing time.

  2. Many options to reach Koh Larn from 30 bhat to 500 bhat per person. The beach is neat with areas marked for swimming. Lots of watersport activites like jetski, parasailing, scuba

  3. Visited all the beaches on this small island and I’m sorry to say there are much better places to visit in Thailand but ok just for a day cheap to get there from the mainland pattaya only 30 baht , but the beaches are all swamped with lots of loud Chinese and Japanese tourists !! Thousands of then ???

  4. Please note… I researched a LOT about all the locations I would be going in Thailand, and after having gone on my trip, I have found at least 25% of the reviews for most of Thailand areas are not even correctly placed for the location! I really had some big problems from this and missed several things I wanted to do because they were not listed in the right locations. I guess people take a half-second to GUESS where they might have been and drop a review where-ever they feel like it.For example, Ko Larn (near Pattaya) has dozens of reviews and information for some other island that is over by Phuket. No where close. Additionally, it even has some pictures and information that should be placed on the mainland of Pattaya and NOT on the island. So lets start with a real review of Ko Larn near Pattaya….First… this is the island that Affordable Asia calls “Coral Island” and that is probably why a lot of reviews are dropped here from a “Coral Island” over near Phuket.Second… if you are thinking you will get here and line up on a big dock to para-sail like some of the pictures show… NO. That is on the mainland… NOT the island. If you want to para-sail or do much else than swim and lay on the beach from here, you have to have a big group of 6 to 8 minimum that wants to do it and hire a boat. It was unclear if the boat would then take you to another location or be the boat in question because I could only find 5 people that wanted to para-sail.Third… yes… there is a designated swim area roped off so that you don’t get hit by the dozens of boats coming in and out. However, if you don’t mind risking getting whacked by a boat, you can do some snorkeling over near a rock jette. Be warned, the rocks are covered and surrounded by a ton of long-spined urchins… do NOT put your feet down into them. Also (though it may have been because of late April season), there were a LOT of jellyfish. Little guys that seldom stung and the stings faded after a few minutes, but LOTS. Somewhere by the rocks and by the only two areas of brown coral I found, I ran into a solid wall of jellies that made swimming feel like kicking through a bowl of jello salad. Creepy, but I was only stung a few times. The water isn’t crystal clear, and mostly you only see some random fish, urchins, and jellies, but since we could not para-sail, we rented masks and snorkeled for a few hours and enjoyed it besides the drastic sunburn I got from not enough sunscreen. The beach is beautiful and nice (crowded in the swimming area) but there isn’t a lot of shade, so be sure to bring a LOT of sunscreen.Note: there are three beaches on the island that the boats drop off to, so your snorkeling experiences may differ, but we did not see a single para-sail anywhere on/around the island and at least from the beach we went, there was a minimum of 6 to 8 (or more) people for any additional activities besides snorkeling.Had I known the reviews here were often misplaced, I think I would have skipped the day trip here and done things in Pattaya instead.

  5. A nice little Beach, though not that great compared to the amazing Thai competition nearby. Be warned not to rent jet-skis or the like, upon return you will be asked to pay for all sorts of damage to the equipment which you were clearly not responsible for. In the couple of hours at the Beach we saw plenty of tourists being ripped off. Police is in on the scam and were quite rough with the victims of the scam.

  6. not as well known as other beaches but equally as good very quiet and tranquil i have only been here once myself but i had a great day

  7. At first I got a really good vibe while entering the village where the boat dropped us off. But this changed quite fast. The island feels like it has so much pontential but it doesntdeliver. Dirty beaches with some of them cramped with sunchairs and others packed with noisy people and hundreds of speedboats going back and forth. There are some decsent accomadation here some of them really stylish but the island itself feels like it once was booming but now is all dead after 8pm. No bar with people to talk to, just empty. This could have been so mych more.

  8. If you’re coming to Koh Larn via the Tawaen Ferry or a speedboat, you might like this beach. To access it, you take the same raised boardwalk that you use to get to the ferry landing but turn off. Tawaen beach is very crowded with lots of large groups, but you can easily get over to this area, which is a little more secluded.

  9. When visiting Ta Waen Beach make sure to walk over to Sangwan Beach. Just a short walk down the pier away 🙂
