  1. Our family had such a great day out at Shaan & Jeevan’s Farm. Aruna and Chai are wonderful hosts and their 2 sons, Shaan & Jeevan, are adorable. The farm is really off the beaten track and well worth a visit. We drove there on our bike, over the bridge from Lanta Yai, and then walked down the long path (about 1 km) from the main road to the farm. It was a really lovely walk, surrounded by fields and trees, and not a soul in sight. (You can also drive down the path – you don’t have to walk!) Aruna and Chai welcomed us to their farm and showed us around. We relaxed there for a bit and then went out to explore the area around the farm with Aruna. The location is amazing – a short walk through the mangroves and you’re at a stunning, paradise beach – which you have all to yourself. The only other people we saw were a couple of local fishermen, who let the kids play on their boat. Aruna is a really friendly and informative guide and everyone had such a great time, especially our 5 year old daughter. It’s a really exciting nature trip to do with kids. The farm is still in its early days but Aruna & Chai have lots of exciting plans for the future, so we can’t wait to go back at some point, see how its grown and do more activities. Thanks for everything and good luck with your wonderful project.

  2. It’s a quick and easy journey to this peaceful haven away from it all for a great day out. It felt as though we were on a private island as we explored the eco farm and surrounds. Acres of Savannah type grasslands, a long deserted sandy beach and mangroves packed with wildlife make a great adventure for kids or adults. Chai has made huge steps in planting native trees and creating an eco farm that you can learn all about. Aruna is an exuberant, welcoming host and guide who will dazzle you with her vision for a better environment.

  3. I had a great time visiting the Eco farm. We received a very comprehensive tour from both Aruna and Chai on their methods of conservation. Interesting to see what types of techniques are used in Thailand and comparing them to other places in the world. It’s very nice to see people living alongside the planet while minimising the footprint they leave behind. Thank you Aruna and Chai!

  4. Having heard about the eco farm while staying on Koh Lanta I just had to visit, over on the neighbouring farm so off I went on my rental bike over the bridge. The directions are quite easy to follow once you know the roads, and there is a pole with a number at the end of the long dirt road through the land to get to the farm. The track can get quite sandy at the end so be careful! Tuk tuks will also be able to take you should you not have a bike. On arrival you’ll meet the most beautiful family on their home built farm, with everything made from scratch, from the house to the water system to the crops they’re growing. The beautiful young boys, of Swedish and Thai descent, of whom the farm is named after are just a delight to meet and be around, not to mention their two rescue dogs and recently adopted family of kittens with Mama in tow! I highly recommend visiting this place for an enlightening look into authentic, self sufficient, harmonious Thai family life. This family and what they’ve done here is truly an inspiration. Go meet them and take a look around! You won’t regret it. And there’s a little beach just five minutes walk down from the house which you must see to believe. 5*!

  5. This educational off the beaten track venture offers an amazing opportunity to experience at first hand a true sustainable lifestyle. The enthusiastic owners will give you a warm welcome and you are sure to be impressed by their passion for their unique project.

  6. After several days by the beach on Koh Lanta we were ready for something new. Then we learned about Shaan and Jivan’s Eco-Farm. We checked the farm’s website and made a call. A little later, a small pickup truck arrived to take us over the new bridge to mangrove-girt Lanta Noi. Five kilometers down the road, Chai Chuaprom met us and brought us to the clearing where a traditional Thai house is nearing completion. It’s easy to see that it will be a gorgeous, comfortable farm home. Chai was tweaking the irrigation system that day, a handy intern was whacking back weeds to extend the garden, and a cashew tree in the back yard was heavy with fruit. Aruna Singh allowed us to kibitz while she put together a cashew apple crumble tart and a lovely curry. Shaan and Jivan, six and four, were bursting with energy and delighted when I suggested they show me the mangroves and the swimming beach at the bottom end of the farm. Night fell. We sipped a few beers, noshed on satay and pondered the fate of the world with our hosts, daring to imagine a future when many millions more humans like Chai and Aruna actually put their ideals to work building a sustainable future near to nature. We slept snugly in the loft. Next morning we shared an ample breakfast of fresh eggs, fruits and Thai sweets and then, alas, it was time to bid adieu and head for the Krabi airport two hours up the road.

  7. We had a lovely visit to the farm! Even though we have visited Ko Lanta many times and for extended periods this gave is a new perspektivet. The idea of building a sustainable life here and contributing to the community is very inspiring. We enjoyed walking through the mangroves to the beautiful beach too. I think everyone will get something out of coming here – Aruna and Chai are admirably “walking the talk”!

  8. Aruna and Tai gave us a tour on their eco-farm and told a lot about their way of living and their projects. They try to recylce materials and create awareness for the big plastic waste problem. They also started with community work, called the Book Club. We could join this meeting and play and read books with the local children. Also our children liked this. The ladies of the villages make beautiful bags for sale, made of recycled materials. I bought one. Good initiatives which contributes to a more sustainable Koh Lanta. This wil contribute to better planet. We wish Aruna and Tai and their 2 sons all the best :).

  9. i loved the place. And swimming in the Mangroves was heaven. Special experience. 🙂 Keep up the good works.
