  1. The four island tour was the worst trip I did during my five week holiday. I was picked up at 8:10am yet didn’t board the boat till 9:30am and by the time you’ve stopped at other beaches to pick up more people and overcrowd the boat you don’t actually get going till after 10:00am. There were supposed to be two snorkel stops but in reality there was just one and that was the worst snorkel I’d had by a long way and hardly worth bothering with. Lunch was shockingly bad even by tourist boat standards. The second snorkel was at the lunch spot but there’s no where to snorkel there so that’s a lie. Our final stop at the Emerald Cave should have been amazing but it was just so unsafe. I’m a decent swimmer and dived in Koh Lanta but this made me nervous. The life vests were in such a poor condition and you’re left to swim through the cave in pitch black as the one guide with a torch swims far ahead. I saw one family take a small child in in a rubber ring which was just stupid. The sea was rough and I’m amazed everyone made it back. Overall avoid this tour and company.

  2. picked us up on the beach of our resort, albeit 15 minutes late but lovely guys especially the leader. water offered on board, with plenty of assistance for non experienced people such as us for snorkelling and emerald cave all done with care and humour. toilet dirty for Europeans standard but customer service amazing. food was okay but warm and not much choice for vegetarian husband.

  3. When I ordered the trip they said it would be maximum 20 people on the boat. Well it was 3 westeners and 50+ of chinese on the boat. They are so load, pushing and shouting. The boat eas way too croaded. Worst trip ever!!! I specificly asked how many people would be on the boat. If I would have known only chinese and 50+ I would never have booked. Went Koh Ha also and that was not what I ordered. Bad food with spitting chinese everywhere!!!

  4. we did the 2 island trip, Koh Rok and Koh Ha. Crew are great, they actually use life preservers to take those unsure of snorkeling around all the great views in the water. Lunch was great and the day very enjoyable

  5. We booked the tour to Koh Rok and Koh Ha. Everything worked as expected, with a touch of lack of communication similar to what we have witnessed several times in these kind of tours. The leader did speak some English which was good. If you follow along and have moderate expectations, you will be happy. They picked us up at the hotel in a songthaew, picked more passengers and got us to the beach. After 15min wait, we got in the speedboat and continued the day as planned. The food was very good and the crew was caring. We were lucky that not many tourists were around, likely due to the coronavirus. Koh Rok and Ko Ha were great, being the latter a spectacular place with good snorkeling. Rok is a very nice calm beach. The time spent in each place felt OK. In Koh Rok we snorkeled in two places (30 min each), maybe one was enough because both places were pretty similar. We could have stayed longer in Ko Ha (stayed 40min) because it’s gorgeous and there is even some sand to rest on.

  6. Went on a day tour with them which was an optional activity through our G Adventures trip. The speedboat was large, with benches down both sides, with about 36 in total – a full boat. The first stop, Koh Haa, was maybe 45min out. Good visibility, some nice coral and fish (and a Nemo); maybe 35min in the water and we headed off again for about 40min to Koh Rok national forest park to drop food before going 5min away for snorkelling – better visibility, more fish (more Nemos!) and more coral. Back to the park for a delish lunch of rice, curry, veg, chicken, fruit – well done. Softdrinks and cold drinking water on tap. The park itself is gorgeous with white sand, swings, monitor lizards, washrooms and lifeguards – enjoyed our 1.5hr here. Short journey to another Koh Rok spot for the best snorkelling of the day. Another 45min or so back to the pier, drop off at the hotel. Great day!

  7. I had done a small amount of research into groups that do snorkeling tours around koh lanta, and decided to just go with the snorkeling set up through our hotel because the price was exactly the same, it was easier, etc. This was a mistake. They set it up through pattesia and it was by far the most amateur/low quality tour we did in our entire trip to Thailand. The actual snorkeling was pretty good, we saw a lot, Koh Rok was a nice stop, the waters were calm our day. The lunch was also pretty good. The cabin crew was kind, but the boat was completely oversold. It was a long time on boat transfers (over an hour on the way back) which we were prepared for and knew it wasn’t going to be like, a luxury experience. However, there were so many people you could barely even sit. It was extremely uncomfortable, kind of awkward, bordering on unsafe. I’m pretty go with the flow and don’t often complain, but this is genuinely the only tour the entire time we were in Asia that I have negative things to say about. really wish we had gone through one of the other more highly rated companies on the island. I understand we are coming off an extremely difficult time in this region with the lack of tourism for so long, but by selling even 4-5 less tickets, the experience would have been so much better.

  8. We booked the 4 Island Tour through our hotel. It was supposed to be with Lanta Garden Hill Speed Boat, but when we got to the pier, we were told it was with Pattesia and that the two companies are partners. So, just know that the company you book with may not be the company you wind up with. The pier seemed very disorganized with different tours all leaving around the same time and no clear directions to indicate where anyone was supposed to wait. All it would take is a couple of signs on posts! Anyway, we were told to “go to the right and wait,” so we did. They forgot us. The boat had to circle back to the pier about 15 minutes later to pick us up. Not a great start! The boat was already crowded when we got on, then we were told that we were going to a beach to pick up 15 more people. It ended up being super crowded. Luckily everyone was very friendly and in great spirits. I was a little bit shocked by the lackadaisical approach to safety. There were very few small lifejackets that would fit tween kids and several of the ones they did have had buckles that no longer work. I was very surprised that they didn’t require lifejackets for snorkeling. The coral was at quite a shallow depth, so for both the safety of the snorkelers and for the good of the coral, I would think that they would. Also, a better briefing before each activity would have been helpful. The emerald cave was very cool, but it would have been good to know that it’s a 5 minute swim through pitch black to get there before you pop out into the lagoon. That being said, it’s an awesome day out on the water and well worth doing.

  9. The weather was rainy on the day but we were assured that the conditions were good enough for the trip to go ahead.Let’s start off by saying that we were picked up 0.5h after the agreed pickup time by a guy smoking weed. The weather was rainy on the day but we were assured that the conditions were good enough for the trip to go ahead. The boat itself was crowded, with not enough seats for everyone, forcing some to sit on boxes in the middle of the cabin. On top of that there were only 10 life vests going around while 30+ people were on board. The sides of the boats were left uncovered letting all the waves and rain water into the boat, making everyone soaking wet and cold even before getting into the sea. Despite the assurance from that staff that the weather was good enough to go ahead we had to skip the first location on the itinerary (Koh Haa) due to difficult weather conditions. Then, after another 1h bumpy journey to Koh Rok, we were dropped off at the island, where (if you were fast enough) you could treat yourself to some flat, diluted coke and rudimentary lunch before it ran out. It was raining the whole time, with big waves making snorkeling or swimming difficult and quite frankly dangerous. But nothing can top the journey back where boat was constantly crashing against very high waves, giving everyone either a concussion or making them throw up (or both). Honestly, save your money for some other trip and definitely do not travel with Pattesia.

  10. We were initially booked with Garden Hill Speedboat Co for a Koh Haa/Koh Rok day trip and finished up being herded onto a Pattesia Boat at the Koh Lanta ferry wharf. The boat was extremely overcrowded to the extent that some passengers had to sit on the floor. This resulted in an absolute circus when it came time to try and exit and re-board the boat for snorkelling. Especially at Koh Haa where the water was infested with stinging jelly fish. The boat crew did an OK job and it turned out to be a reasonably enjoyable day with the beach and snorkeling around Koh Rok being the highlights. These guys need to seriously manage the number of people on their boats because I’m sure there weren’t enough life jackets for the customers and I know some were not impressed at all with their trip. We won’t be recommending Pattesia to anybody that we know.
