  1. Fairly new monument to Thai Admiral, who helped to found the modern-day Royal Thai Navy with magnificent views over the bays of Koh Chang.Interesting piece of Thai naval history commemorating a famous Thai naval victory over the potential colonist forces of France. The climb up the steps is well worth the view from the top. There is a roadway up, however, if you are on wheels.

  2. This new monument is built to look like a warship by a small and fantastic beach. The monument is built to honor those who died in the hard battle between French invaders and Thai naval ships in 1941.The beach is very nice and the trees are filles with small sea shells and other things to honor the dead sailors. The sunset is very beautiful, and I met three boys on their big motorbikes tenting there, they came all the way from Bangkok.

  3. Nothing here apart from, a small grubby beach and a surprisingly large number of dead fish….Building inm photo was locked and empty

  4. The battle of Koh Chang, during the Sino War (WW2), is interesting. Instead of going here, read about it on internet.Unfortunalty this place is a mess,,,, the beach is not clean, garbage is lying all over… .The building looks like a boat with an assemly room has a huge map (can peep into the window to see it, not possible to enter) Would be good if there was a museum inside. On rocks outside there are signs about the battle, unfortunatly only in thai.To go so far to see it is not worth it. Not even the beach….If You are into history make a trip to Leam Ngop Navy Monument and the Museum in Trat instead.

  5. This place could be interesting and educational. Instead, it’s a disappointing dilapidated dump. Looks like someone had some budget to burn, so they built this “shrine” that is totally uninteresting. There seems to be no maintenance or attempt to make the place of interest to visitors. The building, constructed in the shape of a ship, is an empty shell that visitors apparently don’t have access to. There is a small monument to the victims of the Ko Chang naval battle outside, but it’s poorly maintained and there are no educational signs in English. The small beach is used mainly by local picnickers and there was lots of trash strewn around when we stopped there. It’s at the southern end of the island on the eastern side, so it’s a long way to go (for nothing much of interest); don’t waste your time!
