  1. Big statue, unfortunately before it there is a car parking place and some small restaurants. If it’s on your way stop here, but it not a must.

  2. Here you can have some local food and coffee with nice views. There is a nice coffee shop opposite The temple

  3. Koh Samui Guan Yu Shrine. A chinese respected and prayed by police and chinese underworld gangsters. Guan Yu, also known as Yu Chang, who was a well-loved and respected general during the Tree Kingdom in China.

  4. Just a Jolly Green Giant – quite impressive though. I went up the stairs to have a look around, but not very much up there either.

  5. Beautiful tribute to this 1st century general and leader I. Ancient China. Great philosophy on life and happiness. This doesn’t take a lot of time and we’ll worth the stop. Admission is free!

  6. One of the biggest Guan Yu statue ever seen. Must go if you are a fan of this Chinese hero. Inside the compound is a shrine dedicated to Guan Yu and is popular with the locals and tourists too.

  7. A Chinese temple located on the circular road south of Lamai beach. The statue of Guan Yu is impressive and definitely worth checking out.There’s not much public transportation in Ko Samui so I recommend hiring a car or motorbike to get there.

Guan Yu was a Chinese military general in ancient times who was very well known for not only his bravery but also for his righteousness. He is worshipped all over by Chinese people. He is also popularly known as God of War. One can spend few minutes over here.

  9. This was different than the other temples I saw in Thailand. It is Chinese and Confucian. The view greeting you upon arrival is amazing. The temple is meanwhile filled with bright colors.

  10. Interesting Chinese leader from 2000 years ago from a man revered by several nationalities. Imposing scale. Still being developed.
