  1. We were in Chiang Mai for 5 days last November for Yi Peng (Flying Lantern Festival) and Loy Krathong (Floating Lantern Festival). We had planned a 3 day Temple circuit in the Old City.We had pin pointed the most famous ones like Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara and Wat Phra Singh which are amazing. This one one is not in the Center of Chiang Mai, meaning not in the Old City and therefore you need to take a cab or a tuktuk to reach it.This not really worth your time unless you have already seen maybe 20 other Temples in Chiang Mai.May be if you are passing by it you could stop by but I don’t believe you should go there specially, as there many many other attractions much more worth of your time.Anyway, if you go there, don’t let your cab or tutktuk leave you while visiting it as you might find tat it is not so easy to find another one to get back to the center. Better to invest some more baths and save you precious time.

  2. Such a lovely, quiet Wat that you can walk about freely and take in the lovely Artwork and Temple! It is close to everything so you do not have to travel too far!

  3. Located next to the superhighway just east of maya, there are large shaded areas with shrines, two large temples,(one quite old), and it attracts art classes from Chiang Mai University. Parking is available.

  4. This is a lesser visited Wat as its out of the town centre. You will need a car to get here as its just off the super highway and that is not a road you will want to walk on. Pleasant grounds with some greenery, also its an historical wat.

  5. A remarkable 15th century Wat, built as a smaller replica of the Bodh Gaya temple in Bihar, India. The architects hadn’t seen the original, but copied another replica in Bagan, Myanmar. So, having been to Bodh Gaya, I have to say it’s not quite right, but charming nonetheless. There was a Buddhist Congress here (the sixth? There have only been about a dozen in over 2,500 years). Surprisingly well preserved stucco work. Easily accessible from the ring road.

  6. Located on the Chiang Mai to Lamphun highway, this old temple is a must visit, take a walk about the grounds and admire the building, one of the oldest in Chiang Mai and a must visit during your stay

  7. This is one of the lesser promoted temples of Chiang Mai but still worth keeping on one’s schedule. Having seven spires makes this an unusual temple and it also one in a state of some disrepair. We had this temple and its grounds pretty much to ourselves, which made for a very nice visit.

  8. Beautiful and antique temple where is not far from city, we visited there because I was born in year of snake (thai horoscope) and this temple is a must visited for those who was born in the year of snake.

  9. A real ancient temple and inspired architecture from Bodh Gaya gives you a real serene quiet atmosphere, enjoy the peace and nature beauy
