  1. Very nice botanical garden and park, near Bangkok in Changwat Samut Prakan. It’s a birdwatchers paradise. I was there in the last month of the rain season and it was a lush, green jungle paradise. Best to explore by bike.

  2. It is a great park to ride bicycle comfortably here and I did enjoy the fresh air here too! Many trees and it is a great enjoy the ride inside woods! And there is a nice treehouse near the park you must come and enjoy it!

  3. We did a DIY bike ride through “Green Lung” which I highly recommend! You can take a boat over from Khlong Toei Pier, and rent bikes at M Bike rental right when you get off. Have fun exploring and getting lost in the many little streets of this wonderful area! Make sure to spend some time in Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park And Botanical Garden. The Bangkok Tree House was also a great air conditioned lunch stop!

  4. Just a three minute boat trip from the bustling centre, we found this a great thing to do on the after we did the Temples and The Palace. A really interesting place not on the regular tourist run. We walked. We saw a few others who were using bikes. A wonderful day.

  5. Firstly avoid all those park tours charging the earth…If your on the opposite bank of river get yourself to Khlong Tori pier and to right of main gated pier entrance a small road takes you to river. A few small boats, and I mean Oxford punt size, are waiting. Our “crew” was a small woman, who’ll not see 60 again, with a full compliment of my daughter, me, an eldely lady with her grandson and a sack of oranges! BIG river…small boat but in minutes dispatched on other side and told “free” when asked how much. The cycle hire department of the organisation was waiting on southbank…and after an 80bht per person deal was struck we had 2 bikes, a map and a complimentary bottle of water, presumably in case we got lost and needed rehydration…My cycle was of a vintage that a “hovis” loaf would have looked at home in the front basket, or a district nurse had used it to visit patients but the route is as flat as a billiard table so it did the job. Park is a little escape from a very busy city, somewhere kids can play freely, feed fish, kick a ball and cycle obviously. This place looks a bit forgotten but I believe at weekends it well used, has stall etc.I’d highly recommend as a little escape, boat free, cycle 80 bht include map and water, park free…a little adventure ..I say again…avoid planned trips charging 1000bht plus!!

  6. Bang Kachao itself is huge, and renting a bike and cycling through all of the alleyways is a great way to spend a day. However this review refers specifically to this nature park, not the whole of Bang Kachao. The park itself was very crowded (Saturday), bicycle traffic jams the norm. You can cycle all around in 20 minutes or so. Somewhat shaded, but bring a hat! The bird watching tower is good in theory, but if you think you’re going to spot any birds with all of the human activity going on, slim chance unless you go early. There are snacks to buy at the entry, and tons of other food choices on the outside. Where they came up with the title “Botanical Garden” I’m not sure. This is NOT one of those. Come to Bang Kachao for the whole experience, just don’t set your expectations too high for this park.

  7. Great escape from Bangkok, the back of the park is left unkept to let local plants and trees take over. Besides that, nothing botanical about it, yet very pleasant for a warming up bike ride before exploring Bang Kachao further around.

  8. Can finish exploring this park in about 20 minutes.. There is a bird watching tower but it’s just a tower and it’s quite unlikely you will see any birds if you reach the top unless at specific times of the day ? There is nothing else interesting in this park.

  9. Beautiful park to explore by bike or foot. Plenty of shade to hide in on a hot sunny day. Many cute cafes around too, be sure to check them out.

  10. Fantastic forest park. Great for birds, butterflies, lizards, and even monitor lizards. I spent 3 hours here enjoying the nature. Plenty of shade under the huge palms and forest trees. Taxi ride from Punnawithi just 350 baht
