  1. Incredible experience I will keep with me forever. Chanchai welcomes you into his home and makes you feel a part of the family. This was a totally perfect day. A must do when visiting Chiang Mai!!

  2. Had the most amazing day there with our lovely guide Coco! You can see that they care about the elephants and they care about their care takers too, especially little Jojo adores his one. What made me chose this sanctuary is that the group sizes are only up to 15 peoples, in my case we were only 5 and they only do one tour a day where you follow the elephants day. 3 of us were solo travellers so don’t worry about going here by yourself. The guide takes good care of you (and your photos). The elephants get to decide how long to stay for example in the jungle. Such beautiful creatures and amazing people working there. You will also see their own cats, chickens and even some water buffalos as well as the amazing mountain surroundings. Can’t recommend this place enough.Thank you so much for this amazing day <3

  3. The whole-day tour was well organized and fully fulfilled all that was advertised (getting close up to the elephants, walking in the jungle, nice lunch, afternoon programme with mud-bath and river bathing). The car ride is quite long, but I felt it was actually a plus, as the elephants get to live in a remote natural environment.I tried to do a lot of research about animal welfare related to “elephant activities” beforehand and I would rate this activity as follows: Out of the many “elephant sanctuary” visits on offer, I am pretty sure this is one of the best choices, i.e. the elephants live in a natural environment, they seem relaxed and healthy and are clearly very much loved and cared for by the family. The family described it to us as the elephants being their pets/family members who they care for and engage with – much like e.g. in European countries, people would describe the relationship to their beloved dog. While the elephants did not seem to mind or be disturbed by the interaction with the visitors (they are clearly used to it), and the part of feeding them and walking in the jungle with them seemed like just accompanying them on their daily routine, I personally am not convinced about bathing in the mud or in the river in close proximity to them, as it seems quite unnatural to me. But this is just my personal feeling about this activity in general, and should not discourage anyone who wants to try it from booking with this particular tour operator – as I said, out of the many choices, I genuinely believe this is one of the best regarding animal welfare.

  4. As many reviews have attested to, this sanctuary is awesome. The sanctuary has an ethical approach where the elephants seem well cared for. We had a great time feeding, bathing, and hanging with the elephants. The lunch they provide was good. This sanctuary is not commercial like some of the others where they push hundreds of guest through.
