Genesis Internat’l Tailors Hello everybody in Chiang Mai and the world! If you need/want an outfit stitched special for you, look no further, this place is it! I have always respected and appreciated Genesis International Tailors. After Mr. Chawla fashioned a becoming black lace and satin teal dress for my daughter during her senior high school years, I recently returned – it’s wedding season! Secretly, I was rather pleased that I couldn’t find anything in the local stores or on internet which exactly fit the colors of my daughter’s wedding palette or my personal style. It’s been 13 years since I had a custom qaftan made in another country and I’d been missing the whole experience…I called on a Monday and got an appointment with Mr. Chawla the next afternoon. Shangri-la is a lovely, central location. We discussed my ideal dress based on summer season, my need to stay cool, modest and also elegant. I was very pleased he recommended two fabric shops in Kad Luang known to foreigners as Warorot Market.That saved me much effort and sweat hours, no scouring of shops needed, thank God! Not only that, in one of the recommended shops, the staff ladies who assisted me had been working there for 20 and 30 years. They gave me much time and attention and helped assure me of the coolest, prettiest lace pattern in my price range. Wednesday morning task done with low stress, I returned that afternoon to Mr. Chawla’s for measurements and more discussion. He apprised me of the fashions and styles of the day. I understood that he wanted me to look my best, i.e., un-dowdy! but he also took note of my need for comfort. He completely astonished me by an invitation for a first fitting on Thursday… no way, really?! Was it humanly possible? That would be a gift as he knew I was on a crunch to go on 3 trips nearly back to back in one month…time was ticking.Yes, Thursday it was! The dress Mr.Chawla is generous with his time and treats me with the utmost respect, which I value highly as a diminutive Asian American woman. I went to Genesis International Tailors to have a sport coat made. The tailor was ver knowledgeable and informative. He gave me many great choices on different styles and cloths. I had Genesis International Tailors construct a double breasted sport coat. Many things impressed me, but one was how completely detailed Mr. Mehrban had in making sure I had the perfect fit. He didn’t miss anything. He promised to have it the next day, and it was exactly as he said. It was a great transaction with a proper price. He did have it done the next day. I am pleased and very impressed with the professionalisim of Genesi International Tailors. If you want tailored clothing constructed for you, this is the perfect location!

Genesis International Tailors was a pleasant gem to find during our visit to Chiang Mai. Mr. Chawla was professional, friendly and accommodating with our needs. Although we had only 3 days at Chiang Mai and the flood to contend with, Mr Chawla was able to make 2 dresses, a jumpsuit, a jacket, and a suit before we left. We are very happy with the quality and craftsmanship and the work did not look rushed at all. We shall return look forward to our future tailor made clothes with Genesis International Tailors.
