This was one of the most entertaining shows I have ever been too, The food was divine. Laughed so much my sides hurt. And to think everything was made out of junk. Very impressive.
Having lived in Phuket for over 2 years, we had never heard of Junkyard until some friends mentioned it to us and we then booked. We cannot believe just how good this show is !! It’s set in a small intimate theatre and I understand that the entertainers are all amateurs, but to be honest, they could all be professionals as the standard really is that high. I don’t want to say too much about the show itself as the surprises are one of the most entertaining aspects of the performance. If you live in Phuket, you will instantly get the jokes and parody, if you’re a tourist and have been in Thailand for 3 days, you will also get it. It’s such a funny reflection of everything that is Phuket and Thailand and it’s absolutely hilarious. The singers are a little less comedy, but are at the same level of excellence as the other actors and again, amazing to experience. Both my wife and I commented that it was the most we had laughed for years and we had tears of laughter streaming down our faces on multiple occasions. From the moment you enter the venue and get a superb welcome from Mia, through the pre-theatre drinks service and background entertainment all the way through the show and dinner, the service is impeccable. I cannot give enough kudos to the whole company. Every single member of staff is warm, friendly, professional and above all, comes across as they love their job and are passionate to make sure guests have a great time. If you’re in Phuket, love the theatre and comedy, this should be at the very top of your to-do list whilst there. Thank you so much Junkyard, we will be back very soon. Ian and Debbie
This show was hilarious! Great Aussie humour.. preformed by the lovely Thai people! Great food! Amazing service… and the junkyard is outstanding! Soooo much to see! Do yourself a favour…. And go!
The show was very upbeat and inspiring – you could tell how much fun performers and staff were having throughout the show. The venue is held at an old warehouse that has been up-cycled from discarded materials found throughout Phuket over the years. I was lucky enough to share dinner with two of the mad hatters / genius’s behind the production themselves, Judy & John. The entire experience was something I will always cherish. They don’t make ’em like this too often anymore.
This should really be two reviews. A great donner out, and also a great fun night’s entertainment. John Underwood’s amazing staff make you feel immediately welcome and by the end of the night you fell part of their family.The dinner itself is a treat with a well thought out Thai dinner which was delicious and generous. We also discovered the chef’s you son makes a cameo appearance and was very cute.The performers are skilled, funny, and vibrant. Knowing all the props and theatre decorations are all from recycled materials is impressive, and testimony to the creative genius of John and his son.I won’t spoil the experience by detailing the show itself, other than say this should be on your bucket list when visiting Phuket. Don’t miss it.
This is an amazing show and a must see if you are in phuket. We have been coming to phuket for over 10 years and only found this place this year. We will definitely be going again
