  1. Not your Siam etc but the course was very good, slow greens but we are from Melb Aust which have fast greens. The course was in great condition and the caddies and staff were very good. A great cheaper course to play on there special days.

  2. Very enjoyable for golfers of all standards with some very challenging holes just to keep it interesting. Good value for money.

  3. This navy course has 36 well maintained holes. North and West nine holes off white tees 6,612 yards with generous fairways, plenty of water, interesting elevation changes and of course lots of trees down the fairways. Low season special is 1,000 baht with cart. Excellent caddies and a par 3 with island green make golf a great day out.

  4. The Royal Navy golf club continues to be one of the best value golf courses on the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand. It’s low season rates were amazing and high season costs only slightly more. Green fees and caddy for Bahts 950.- (about UK $20_.The only drawback to this is that it is busier than ever and with four 9-hole courses available, they never turn people away, but they do sometimes run out of caddies! The golf course is superbly maintained but gets very busy. You have to play off early as local service people appear from lunchtime onwards and are allowed to play in groups of five or even six golfers. They pay a bargain rate of just Bahts 100.- (about UK£2.00)Food and drink are at mess prices so this is really cheap. However the dining room is not well managed! They even ran out of milk on our last visit and the staff here make no effort!

  5. Sunday 26th feb 2017 had booked the course for 2 groups of 3 with carts. When we arrived it seemed like unorganised chaos. There were about 30 karts all over the entrance and similar amount of caddies that didn’t seem to know what they were doing. As it turned out they didn’t.Our clubs were taken away and seemed to “disappear” for a while but then turned up again. they were actually loaded onto carts and then removed again. The skies were about to open up and we stood undercover only to watch all the carts left out in the open not parked under cover.Instead of moving the carts to the large undercover driveway, they retrieved our bags only after we complained they were getting drenched. but the carts still sat in the rain so wet seats all round. What we got was 6 caddies that seemed to be students that worked part time that did not have a clue about the game of golf and even less of a clue about what they were there for.My caddie could not drive a cart and did not know anything about golf. She spoke on her mobile phone around the course and they all had a conversation among themselves even whilst we were teeing off.I am not sure why we had to “pay” for this service let alone the mandatory tip at the end of the game. My caddie wanted to practice “driving” the cart and reluctantly I let her. She managed to “tee bone” the cart next to me from a standing start. Needless to say I took over driving again. We summised that an Admiral must have rung earlier in the day and said I want to play and they sent all the best caddies over to him and his party. At the very least they should have given us 1 seasoned caddie that knew what they were doing to instruct the others that didn’t.The course itself was great but very unhappy with the treatment we received and were charged for.

  6. Located in a wooded valley with many mature trees. Built around a huge natural reservoir. Busy course, average quality, needs some organizational improvements.Has 36 holes, we played North-South. Some interesting holes, e.g. #3 par 3 on the North Course with an island Green at a lighthouse. Or the #9 par 4 on the South Course, situated at the highest point on the course requiring a long downhill drive and a good second shot over water to a small green.Club House a bit run down. Some areas of the restaurant quite dirty. In the locker room they have a unique way of making extra money, called „towel charge“, 20 Baht.On the other hand, greenfee is much lower than the greenfees at the more prestigious courses in the area. All in all the golf there is worth a trip but don‘t expect a very good service.

  7. Challenging round of golf with a good mix of different pars. Slopy, grainy greens very much the norm here as everywhere in Thailand. A historical golf course built around a reservoir and along a mountain. Worth at least one visit.

  8. 1st 9 was a Thai/US Navy project and is now a Beautiful 36 hole Championship Venue. A beautiful friendship continues.

  9. We have played Plutaluang multiple times over the past years. It has become our “home” course for several reasons. The green fees remain on the lower end for Pattaya area courses. The course offers 36 holes and one can mix and match. The layout is natural, as a golf course should be, not manicured & pedicured. Over the years course maintenance has progressively improved – fairways, bunkers, greens are all in decent shape. As befits a navy course there is an abundance of water and the hazards make many holes a challenge forcing lay ups and conundrums re club selection. The electric carts are in best condition of any nearby course. (On a few courses the carts are suspect, even dangerous). I would like to hire my regular Plutaluang caddie to accompany me when I play other venues. She is reliable, knowledgeable and superb at reading greens. It ain’t an easy course. It is not a country club but it offers an enjoyable outing and a venue that is in the true tradition of the game……
