  1. Nothing exciting to say here. Nothing to do. No great cafe or anything so if you have to wait, I suggest walking down the street a bit. It’s clean, no air conditioning, just a basic bus terminal.

  2. Those new travellers who wishes to go, the city of Chiang Mai offers plenty of coffee shops, bars, pubs, food and things that you dun need to buy. Travelling form airport to the city only will cost you B15 if you take the municipal white van which will ply form the airport on a hourly basis to the city and the outter bound bus terminal known as the Archade Bus Station 2 and vice vasa. So if you want to travel in between the city just catch the bus. Cheap and easy, just know there to catch them and the timing. Bus station is old and run down, maybe more could be done. The buses practically covers the whole city. Idea for back packers and budget travellers.

  3. Toilet was really dirty, have to pay for entrance but not sure what the fee is going towards since the toilets were definitely not cleaned.I was at the wrong terminal, by the time I realised (after an agent had arrived) and ran to the right terminal 3 minutes past the departure time the bus had left. Sometimes the buses leave early – as it left 5 mins early for another journey.

  4. So today, I arrived at my ticket desk to check in for my bus to Bangkok. The print off you get says please be at the bus terminal one hour earlier. So I made sure I was there 1 hour and 20 mins earlier. So my print off says Sombat Tours so I went to their office and waited in the queue to be told I was in the wrong one and needed to go to the one opposite which has no name…it was just green that said Bangkok line. Ok then… I wait again, and noone is actually working, they were just chatting and laughing. This is a little frustrating when you are carrying loads of bags and they can clearly see you are waiting to be served. So I asked them, please can I check in and they said wait. I wait, wait, wait wait.. you can see where I am going with this. I decided to call the company who inform me, it is not them but another company j needed to call…what is going on lol all I want is to check in. Then I go to the information office where the gentleman looks at me and actually says how can I help…I tell him and he says go to the office and wait .. Ok, I am now laughing as clearly noone here has a clue as to what is going on. Checking in should not be so hard…Anyway Sombat Tour and 12Go are not my favourite booking companies for communication at the time you need them so rated them low.

  5. Stayed in Chiang Mai and wanted to go to Pai for the day. Booked my tickets through their website for 150 baht. For an extra 10 baht you can also select a seat, which I didn’t do. (Big Mistake because I was in the last row) always go for the front seat.?Earliest bus was at 06:30amI was surprised to find out that Michael Schumacher had a twin brother in Thailand. Who knew?!He managed to do a 4h trip in 3h31m. Not bad.Unlocking the following achievements on the way there:-The Blind turn multi vehicle passing extravaganza-The Downhill brake test -The one hand on the phone, one hand on the steering wheel, hairpin corner challengeOnly one person on board threw up, so he didn’t manage to unlock that achievement just yet. Next time my friend!I am not a religious fellow, but I was glad there was a monk sitting next to me. Even though his face was pale and he looked like he was about to lose his faith whilst grabbing the handrail. All in all we got there safe. The trip back at 6:30PM was with a different driver and that went smoothly. So to summarise: if you want an adventure, cheaper than a rollercoaster in Disney Land and you want to get to Pai and back in one day. This is your company.

  6. Was very busy when we were at Chiang Mai bus station and a little confusing but the staff are lovely so just ask. You need change for the toilet. The bus to Pai weaves round the bendy roads so strap yourself in tightly. The drivers are excellent – Can navigate their way round cows in the middle of the road. Snooze if you can – it’s quite soothing.

  7. My bus was at 12,15 pm but I arrived from the airport around 10 am. I was concerned about the condition of the terminal and to my pleasant surprise, it was very functional and organised. The information counter was super helpful. There were food outlets and shops selling nickknacks. The toilet was clean which is a big plus for public restrooms. There was no smoking around the terminal which was also commendable, and ample seats for waiting. So I managed to kill 2 hours without feeling frustrated.
