  1. Beautiful pottery unique to the Chiang Mai region where a very old Chinese tradition of glazing and pottery is still practiced. This dates back some 2000 years when the north of Thailand was within the kingdom of Siam. …” Celadon is so named because of its distinct totally unique glaze, a process characterized by certain ingredients mixed with wood ash and carefully applied in a step by step process”… from the SIam Celadon’s brochure. The goods on offer range from dinner services and tea sets through bathroom and table ware to animal figures and other figurennes. Each piece offers the obsever its own brand of beauty. The shop is housed in the Ramin Tea House along the Thapae Road which makes a perfect setting for the beautiful pieces of art.

  2. Very nice showroom with a large number of items. There is even a workshop that can be visited to see items made. There are some really beautiful items and place settings. The pricing is very competitive but would have to include shipping to the pricing. Worth a visit if you are looking for place setting or unique pieces.

  3. Nice stop for some air-conditioned cooling off. I did not know what to expect but the pottery products sold here are very nice and high quality. Very up to date items that would be a nice addition to any home. We purchased several things and the staff wrapped them up very good so when we flew back to the states everything arrived in tact without any breaking. There is no fee to shop here and the staff was very helpful and most spoke some english. Take a site seeing break and stop here for a cool down and find something to take home.

  4. See how traditional celadon is made from beginning to end and then see (and buy?) what they’re selling in their shop. It’s informative, interesting, and of course beautiful.By the way, right across the street is MAIIAM, a Thai contemporary art museum, which I also recommend.

  5. Very nice products reasonable price and good service. Siam Celadon get Ahpada reward for 3 years (Ahpada 2001, 2003 and 2014) Handicraft products in Southeasr Asia.

  6. Visited this morning with a tour with Tony Chiangmai Travel located by Dusit Princess hotel . You can see the way the pottery is produced and the designs the shop is very good and prices are reasonable very enjoyable tour

  7. Lots of selection and a great factory to see the products being produced. There is a large variety of products to choose from, but a little pricey.

  8. The Siam Celadon Porcelain Manufactory is located around 15 km east of Chiang Mai on the 1006.We have been here several times and have bought all kinds of beautiful porcelain, from lovely little souvenirs to tea sets sent by ship.Actually, this year we were also “only” thinking of bringing the usual souvenirs in the form of bowls for the bathroom etc. In the end, after almost an hour, we ordered a coffee set of 6.The decor from a set on display, but the design of the cups and saucers from another set, please. We also ordered two rectangular plates from the set on display, with no requests for changes. We also took the sugar bowl and milk jug from the original set with a matching saucer.Plus the usual gifts – since the production of our custom-made coffee service takes about three months and everything is sent by post, you don’t have to skimp on gifts for your friends, so please give two of all kinds of tins and containers. As soon as the price was calculated, six charger plates were added – design from the exhibition piece, but execution from a different set – of course. So we did the calculations again – in the end, with a discount for everything (about 15 kg of material), we came to 14k including shipping and insurance. You can also personalize/paint your porcelain yourself with your own creative ideas and there are also courses for porcelain painting.Highly recommended.
