Loved it!! They picked me up in the city center and drove me to a local market to show me all the produce and products we will be using. Everything was fresh and Ning, the adorable cooking instructor was kind, friendly and spoke good English. I choose the meal and it was all prepared ahead of time when I arrived. Two people assisted and it was so organized and clean!! Enjoyed the chopping and frying and wok-ing! The food was delicious and they took tons of pictures of my whole experience! Thank you, I would do it all again!
My sister booked this cooking class for us while looking for vegan classes and we had such an awesome afternoon with them. They picked us up from our hotel and we drove to the local market 15 minutes away. Our group was only 4 people so even better. In the market Ning, our teacher explained different ingredients to us. After that we drove to the school and the class began. Each of us cooked 4 dishes which we chose earlier. I did fried spring rolls, green curry, tom khai and fried bananas. I am a terrible chef but with the instructions from Ning, I managed not burn everything and the food was delicious. We were all so full and they packed the rest as take away. The class was from 3.30 until ~9 and cost 1000 bht for each. I would defo reccommend you to take afternoon and do the class. Ning and the staff are super nice!
I like cooking Thai food at home, but I learnt so much doing this course. The lady who met us, took us to market and taught us was fantastic, enthusiastic and very patient. I would recommend this as a real treat for yourself. Also a great way of meeting others. We ate soooo much.
My wife took this class with my mum and they absolutely loved it. They first visited a market to see the produce and then got a choice to make 5 dishes each – so 10 in total between them. As they were the only ones in the class it was a very personal experience and enjoyable. Ning and the team were great and the leftovers they brought back tasted delicious! Ok
We enjoyed our cooking class with Ning very much. She is a very good instructor and a really nice person. The dishes we cooked were really delicious and we had a great evening. We even received a little book with all of the recipes at the end of the class. We would definitely recommend this class.Thank you so much Ning! Lisa & Lena
We had such a good time with Ning learning about Thai food. We worked our way through a great menu, picked up some new skills and made delicious food. I recommend doing the fried spring rolls and the papaya salad, in particular. The class is very reasonably priced. All in all, a great experience!
It is always hard to find vegetarian options when I go out and so I thought it would be nice to try to learn how to cook Thai cuisine. I have never really mastered cooking in general, but as a novice I am easily educated as I don’t have bad habits to undo. Ning picked me up at my hotel and took me to the local farmer’s market. Actually, her family sells produce, and so she had extra knowledge about Thai vegetables than usual. It was really nice to walk up and down the stalls being taught how to recognize various vegetables and how they would be used and how they were put together. Of course, the prices were really amazing in comparison to grocery stores: eg: Lemongrass was 5 BHT (about $0.15) compared to $5 for the same amount in the US. The spices, fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients (such as noodles) were very aromatic, and I was able to get a real sense of the texture, color, flavor, smell and spicyness of the various ingredients. Then, on the school. With fans blasting on me, I was taught how to make curry paste, how to create rice paper spring rolls, how to create a cucumber soup, how to create a wonderful pad thai, along with a great vegetable curry, ending with a deep fried pumpkin covered in sesame seeds. Each recipe was carefully laid out, and each ingredient flavor profile compared so you would understand how they would blend together. The five basic flavor profiles of sweet, sour, bitter, spicy and salty were blended with food temperature (i.e., chillis to give kick) to make each dish as complete as possible. Thus, I would add soy sauce, mushroom sauce, salt, sugar and pepper with various ingredients to achieve the desired end result. Within minutes after washing my hands (the kitchen was outdoor, under a tin roof, and spotless, with space for 10 woks over an open gas flame), I was chopping, dicing and slicing, blending, crushing, and using a mortar and pestle to create my curry. I had no idea how easy it would be to create a fabulous rice-paper spring roll with peanut sauce or a really flavorful pad thai with vegetable curry. Needless to say, Ning was a great teacher and I had a ball learning how to cook Thai food. I cannot wait to share with my friends when I get home. What a great way to spend a few hours in a foreign destination.
Hui is so lovely abd openhearted! They picked us up at our hostel. Then we had to choose our menu so we can buy the ingredients at a market! After that we got to the place, where she‘s doing her classes. It‘s gonna be cooked OUTSIDE! How nice is that?!Our 4 dishes menu was done step by step, eaten each dish after cooking it, so it was still fresh! In the end we got a recipe booklet with all her great and actually pretty easy menus in it!
We had a great time. First we were taken to a local food market where we were shown the different vegetables and ingredients we would be using. We each chose the dishes we would like to make and got to work! The instructor was friendly and clearly a great cook. Would recommend anyone tries this.
Hui taught us how to make the dishes and she is so so nice and kind person!! We took a vegetarian cocking class and everything was so delicious! The veggie is fresh, all the place is clean and you get at the end a recipe book.I really recommend the place, and you go to the market at the beginning and you’ve got an explanation about the food.
