We did the Oasis Adventure bike trip and it was amazing! Q was a fantastic tour guide who went above and beyond to make our tour memorable. He took photos of us during the trip with his phone (great action shots) and emailed them to us later. He even walked us to the train and took it part of the way with us so we could get home without getting stuck in hours of road traffic. The tour was the ideal combo of information, fun, and adventurous activity. We had a great time and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bangkok!
Q was our tour guide and he did an excellent job. He took us through the city of Bangkok and then took us to Bang-Kra-Chao Island to explore. The bike paths were beautiful and Q also took us to a few memorable stops along the way, such as the Ancient Temple and the Emerald Way. He would periodically stop after we biked for awhile and he would tell us about an interesting aspect of the island. He had a vast source of historical knowledge and he was very friendly. He was the best tour guide we’ve ever had.
We highly recommend this cycling tour.Q our guide was knowledgeable, safety conscious but most of all amusing and great company. The ride was easy for all abilities and fitness, and such a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle go Bangkok City.We did have incidents along the way that I am sure Q will relate for ever – Sue managed to come off the path and put herself and the bike in the river! But Q dealt with things efficiently and with humour.Take this tour you will love it!
Our day of riding was one of the coldest days in Bangkok history – peaked at 18 degrees. We still managed an awesome adventure. I can only imagine how steamy it would be on the island in weather any warmer than we experienced so dress accordingly. A cap and sunglasses is also a good idea. I’d also pack first aid essentials like some bac-wipes and perhaps bandaids / bandages. You’ll understand why shortly. We were greeted by our amaaaaaazing guide, Q. He was a wonderful young man, enthusiastically teaching us about the areas we visited, the locals and the history and he has a great sense of humour. Don’t stress about being safe, Q’s focus is on safety and we learnt all his commands very quickly. The bikes are decent quality and helmets are provided. I would not consider this ride easy. You need to be alert the entire time; we took around five hours to ride the entire 31kms. The first 45minutes was in the back streets of Bangkok and the simplest part of the journey. Our group and our bikes then jumped in a longboat and motored over to Bang Krachao where we rode about 25kms. Most of the riding paths around Bang Krachao are elevated with no side barriers – you miss the path you’ll drop anything up to 1 metre into swamp or garden. It’s motivation to ride carefully. I’d warned Q how clumsy I am yet somehow I made it the entire way around the island without a stumble…..until the last 100metres before reboarding the longboat. I fell off right into ‘dog bom’ AKA dog do-do. We all got a laugh. We had a bowl of soup at a roadstop on the island and I don’t know whether it was compounded by hunger from the ride but it was one of the best simple meals I’ve had. As previously mentioned, Q is marvellous and kept us entertained throughout. I think our clumsy bumps and scrapes kept him entertained as well.I highly recommend this tour…..and then a long soak in a tub.
Just lovely to be able to tour the unknown green heart of Bangkok on a bike with lovely tour guides, stop for lunch in an authentic Thai place and see historic temples.
13/12 i went cycling with Q ( Oasis Adventure ) . After we met at Sortrel Restaurant and got some info about the tour , we were cycling ( very good bikes !!! ) in the busy streets of BKK ( i felt safe because Q and his team take care ! ) .After crossing the river by longtail boat we were in Bangkok’s Green Lung , where you can enjoy the silence , fresh air and the beautiful nature . We visited different parts of the island and every stop Q gave lots of information . He is a great tourguide who is proud to show ‘ his ‘ island .
What a fantastic trip. Great day seeing a bit of the streets of Bangkok (mostly little streets very interesting) and Bangkajou island which was fantastic, a total contrast to mad busy Bangkok . Our fantastic guide Q was very interesting and always helpful, looking after us really well. Great quality and always felt very safe. Definitely recommend.
Had a great day doing the Urban Oasis adventure tour with Q and Peng. It was just the two of us so they tailored it perfectly for our needs and it was so much fun, so interesting and so pretty! Absolute brilliant day with lots of special ‘surprises’ along the way. Q and Peng were very thoughtful and funny – we loved it!
By luck rather than design my boyfriend and I were the only customers for our Monday morning trip to and around Bang Krachao. The whole experience was fun from start to finish and we felt very well looked after. Our guide, Q, took great delight in showing us around his home island; we learnt so much more than we would have done if we’d tried to take the trip under our own steam. Q took great care to keep us safe in the (crazy) Bangkok traffic and the bikes and helmets were in good condition. Plenty of water and shade breaks and some tasty noodles from a local restaurant early on in the trip. Would highly recommend this as a chance to visit a change in pace in Bangkok – the island is very peaceful. Top tip – wear something to cover your shoulders top wise and keep topping up the sun cream! We didn’t burn but it would be so easy to do so as there isn’t a lot of shade cover during the trip.
Really enjoyed the day on the Urban Oasis trip with Q as my guide. The local markets on Saturday were fantastic with fresh traditional Thai food everywhere.Q was a fantastic guide with an easy going personality and great sense of humor. Q is also born and bred on the island, so as well as knowing its history understands its culture and its friendly people.Would recommend to anyone who wants to get away from the city for the day and enjoys a bit of cycling.Andreas
