  1. My girlfriend an I played on a weekday and we had a great time. We had visited the day before and had lunch and decided to make a booking for the next day. The rent clubs and shoes. Great selection of both so that was nice to not have to buy a set of shoes somewhere. The course was in good shape and beautiful. The green were a little slow due the greens being recently punched, it looks like so they were a little shaggy but playable. The caddies were polite and very professional and they know there way around the greens.Best of all was the hospitality of the all the staff from the moment we walked in to the time we left. Not PGA tour course quality but a very enjoyable course. I would return there if given the chance.

  2. I played the Phuket Country Club Old Course in mid-November. One of the challenges is that the course is fairly hilly, but does not allow for carts to be used. However, you are required to hire a caddy – which is in line with all the other golf courses in the area. The caddy was very friendly and knowledgeable about the course, while the English ended at the golf terms. The reason I am not scoring higher for PCC is that the fairways were not cut short. There was almost no difference between the length of the grass on the fairways and the rough. While the rough was also not long, that took any roll out of shots with longer clubs. Also, be diligent about drinking plenty of water early on. Since I did not follow this, I go dehydrated towards the end of the round and struggled to keep me concentration and hit the ball long.Overall, it was a pleasant experience, while I would encourage that the club would allow the use of carts at those hot temperatures for foreigners that are not used to the heat.

  3. Played 18 holes at the 9 hole Country Club course, this course allows carts unlike its sister new course. The course is stunning, beautiful water features to overcome, bunkers are plentiful and the greens and fairways are in brilliant condition. Have to comment that the caddies really know their stuff, even though they don’t necessarily play. Correct club pulled out before you’ve even decided, exactly the lie of the green and where to aim, and how hard to hit the ball on each shot. Following their instruction is another thing! The backroom is where this is let down. Clubhouse looks tired, no real outside bar to sit at overlooking the course after a stunning round, just a weird 1970s pool to sit at or inside the clubhouse. No Wi-fi, which isn’t a deal breaker but is unusual nowadays. The staff are contactable by email however after about 10am you won’t get a response until the next day no matter how many times you email. Try calling and you will be passed from pillar to post and then hung up on! If planning a visit be sure to email and have it all arranged well in advance. There is NO negotiation on price which seems strange for Thailand, and also strange for clubs where hardly anyone seems to be playing, however this is the norm at golf clubs world over I find. So, get yourself sorted well in advance, organise the transport with them and pay the price on the website and you will have a great time. Cheapest way to play golf in Phuket by far – half the all in cost of other courses in Phuket.

  4. We were staying in one of the very nice villas alongside the 15th fairway and enjoyed a nice early morning round last Saturday 16th. I think this is the oldest golf course in Phuket and whilst it isn’t as good as Red Mountain and the Blue Canyon courses, it’s a good test. Condition was good given that evident lack of rain and the greens were nice and true, if a little slow..

  5. We had booked out 2 villas as we were sharing with my siblings, their partners and kids. Plus my mum, aunties and uncle. All together there was 16 of us in a 10 bedroom villa (2 x 5 bedroom villas next door to each other). Villas are huge! Great space! Every room has an ensuite plus a toilet downstairs. Kitchen is great, had everything you need. We only used it to cook breakfast. The cleaners are lovely. We didn’t have a laundry room in our villas, so the cleaners do it for you.. so we just tipped them. Owner Jason was good until we had an issue with working one of the oven. He replied back with ‘I’ve never used it so I cant help you’ and ‘all the other guests used it with out a problem’. So my brother asked one of the workers the next day and it turned out there was an electric fault lol. Was fixed straight away. There are stairs!! It a 3 storey villa so please remember that there are stairs!! Location was good for us. We stayed in patong and didn’t like the smell and constant business (we had babies with us). Villas are about 10-15mins from patong.

  6. Played Phuket Country Club on Nov 19 with my wife. Course layout is good suitable for players of different levels. Staff was friendly and helpful. Can’t give a better rating due to the conditions of the fairways and greens. Fairways were covered with cow grass that were cut long. So all shots were played like in the rough even on fairway. Greens were very slow. You have to put very hard in order to sink your ball into the hole. My caddie was good but the one for my wife wasn’t very good, not to friendly and proactive advising my wife. The positive point about the club was its restaurant. Food was very tasty and with good price.

  7. We (4) have played at Phuket Country Club twice. The golf course and the club house are well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The caddy was knowledgeable about the golf greens.

  8. Second time I’ve played this course; arrangements made directly via website, very well handled and same applied on day; made very welcome and on arrival was met by club assistant, signed in, paid fees, hire clubs and caddie (incl cart), all in 4,000Bht, which I thought was excellent price. Was taken to and from driving range to hit some balls. Course was in good condition, with some greens having been sanded; but that did not ruin experience. Played off blue tees which was a decent challenge (2 hdcap), I’m sure I’ll be back again

  9. Interesting and challenging golf course in central Phuket. Big club house. Caddies knowledgable. greens slow but in good condition. Lots of trees and water and undulations

  10. Played Yesterday first Time at Phuket Golf and Country Club and it was the first time bad experience playing Golf in Thailand. ?Plus:- Nice Layout- Caddies Knowledgable and good Service- Nice Locker rooms.Minus:- Overall Condition of Tee Area and Fairway bad. Tee area sometimes likt concrete could not put Tee in. Caddy came with steel tool.- FW, high grass, rough area difficult to be differentiated. Not grass all this weed like plants everywhere.- Greens mostly easy but all slow with high grass.- Many times construction area around, big streets to be crossed etc.. Overall not nice scenery.- No Driving range on Golf course.Final Show Stopper for me !!!!! I got twice fully wet showered by green keeper, that started (!) sprinkler with used water while caddy and me walked to the ball beside the green. No fun to play in wet clothes knowing the water might be loaded with bacteria etc..Also Talked to Club member and he said that they know they have challenges since years. So why do they not tackle them ? No interested.Anyway for me never again.Ah btw. the Range is 10 Minutes drive away and not secure. If you play on upperfloor directly at end of mat it goes down 5 Meter and no fence or anything. Good Luck
