We take a tour for beginners (no license) with two dives. The first dive was introductory to 5-6m max. Instructors are really good, very professional and patient. The second dive was of longer duration to 12m depth. Before the dive the rout was explained on the map and a booklet given with the list of fish can possible be met on our way (unfortunately we’ve not seen most of the listed). Instructors lead us througout the dive, but were not preventing us to stop on a single location for longer if we noticed something interesting. Regarding cons: (1) two dive locations are very close and the first dive leaves an impression of an incomplete diving session (just swimming back to your boat from the beach). (2) water was muddy and you need to come closer to see an object (might be a weather issue cause there were some waves)
Have literally just dived here today and what a lovely time we had! Took on the introduction dive and fully plan on a 2 day course at some point. Dima was great at organising everything over whattsapp, very efficient! Our instructor Zaeed was excellent, very patience and made sure we were safe. Will be back again! Tom
We took a refresher course and 2 fun dives with Dominik and loved it. Dominik is highly professional, calm, and detailed oriented. He made us feel at ease and safe.I’d highly recommend Dominik as an instructor and Scuba Birds in general
I chose the make my Advanced Open Water here because Scuba Birds, unlike many other diving centers I informed me right away that the visibility was not so good when I came and adviced me to wait a few days, they didn’t try to start the course right away, which I find is very honest. So I decided to make the course with them and this was the best decision ever. My instructor, Zlata, was awesome, professional and friendly, took a great deal of time to explain the theory before the dives. As a result, I could not only have fun, but improved my skills. Don’t hesitate, it is surely one of the best centers in Koh Tao.
Our family of four (2 teens) got our open water cert with scuba birds. It was amazing. Our instructor Kray was perfect. He made learning the material fun and engaging. He was extremely knowledgeable. When one of us had a problem he made sure that everyone was confident to move forward before progressing. It’s nice to know you’ve got someone you can trust leading you into the depths of the abyss! Our training was very reasonably priced. We got the package with transfer from koh samui, accommodation and open water cert all from subs birds. If I were to do it again, I’d get the cert from scuba birds, but arrange my own accommodation. The hotel was very rustic. The bungalow looks like it’s going to be washed down the hill in the next heavy rain. Get a room in a hotel near the pier and you’ll be good to go. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. Ask for Kray, and you’ll be good to go.
My first dive trip was perfect all thanks to Scuba Birds. The team was very helpful to coordinate the courses. The class was kept small so I felt very safe and well informed of all the skills that are required. My instructor Elena was very experienced and guided me well throughout the course. I definitely highly recommend Scuba Birds and I hope to do my advance course with them when I’m back in Koh Tao!
Recently did my Padi Open Water Certification and the Discover Scuba Diving Course at the Scuba Birds. The staff and instructors were top notch and i felt safe the whole duration of the course (i’am not a water person). I highly recommend this school !
Three day dive course in Koh Tao with a ‘buddy’ and the instructor (Efim). Very easy to understand him and a great teacher, made the diving very relaxed and fun, would definitely recommend. Set up perfectly now if I want to continue diving again in the future.
After finishing my AOWD I go for two more morning dives with Stephen and It was so perfect so relaxing and still so exciting in same time. It was one of my best dives which I take. Stephen was so helpful and did fantastic job ??
Originally I wanted to give this experience a 1 star review. However on the second day our dive guide, Bryan, absolutely phenomenal. He gets 5 stars he was perfect. He helped us with gear, showed us around and made sure we were taken care of. The office staff was also very helpful. Now for the bad. On the first day we upgraded to a night dive. When we got to what we thought was our first dive site we were not impressed. The tanks weren’t full and our apex regulators had issues with their tanks. Their stuff didn’t seem taken care of. I’m not sure if that is the shop or the boat. The dive was lackluster most of the coral was dead. One bad dive is whatever and we were ready to go to a new dive site. However the next dive and the night dive were all at the same lackluster site. It was unpleasant and we didn’t feel it was worth the travel and money. On the second day we had the much better guide, Bryan, and we did get to go to a new site. The second day was awesome the diving was good the guide was amazing but we still had issues with their gear and we still did the same dive site twice. We took 3 planes through 3 countries and spend a lot of money for 5 dives. It’s kind of a bummer that in 5 dives we only saw 2 sites.
