This trip includes visiting multiple islands, although very fast-paced; Snacks, refreshments are included, and a good choice of food during lunch (at around 2PM), not many, vegetarian options, although delicious (and all halal).Phi-phi island is suffocating under tourism, you will be standing in queues with other thousands (!) of people. The company we went with (although here it’s stated orca travel, but it was under a different name) makes a good effort to organize this trip and manage the crowd. Our guide, Sprite (?) was helpful, funny, and made this overly touristy madness surprisingly comfortable. There was no extra information about the geography, history of these islands or the people who live there. In general, if you look for knowledge about these places, this trip is not the one that would provide you with. This trip is solely to carry you around at some islands, it’s up to you what you make up from it.There are some extra expenses you will be pushed to pay for (“instagrammable” longtail boat ride with murky water swimming, sunbeds for a drink ar Khai Nai, etc). It’s rather funny (or sad) to see the insta-wannabes sitting in the very same pose for the very same template pictures. However, just for the snorkeling it’s not worth the 300baht; since there are so many people, none of the animals would be there to be found.
Wow!!! This is an amazing trip!!Visiting the most stunning places ever!!Pong and his crew were absolutely incredible……we absolutely loved every second!! Amazing trip with fabulous crew!! Thank you!!
Scoured the TripAdvisor app and found this tour because it says max number of passengers is 30 and it’s a catamaran hopefully less chance of getting seasick. Very experienced operator with attention to the smallest detail. Great weather today which is a bonus. Free pick up from our Kamala beach hotel at 9am in a new luxurious minivan, arrived at the posh Royal Phuket Marina at 9:45am, disembark at the reception (packed), free light snacks and drinks. Check-in was smooth and efficient, a guide gave a run down then we boarded the beautiful and modern catamaran at the Marina Pier. There were 28 passengers and 6 staff. Chris (shares my family member’s name!) and his team are super professional and everything was clockwork, right down to the constant serving of snacks and drinks, rinsing of feet, giving directions, remembering food allergies …etc. after a 1 hour ride we arrived at the first stop was bamboo island where we snorkeled. Despite the sunny weather there was a Westerly wind so the sea was a bit choppy briefly (1 meter waves), the padded seats were great and the open design of the bow was good so didn’t get seasick. Then we went to Phi Phi Don for more snorkeling and saw numerous schools of tropical fishes (water was clear) and corals. I am not a strong swimmer but the staff was great and catered for people like me, providing float boards and buoy and of course life jackets. We had ample time to explore. Make sure you buy scuba shoes and a water proof case to take photos in water. Monkey island was average so we stayed briefly. Had a very delicious lunch at the Anchor (part of harbour view hotel) at phi phi Don island. Had an hour there. Many clean alleys with shops and cafes. Locals are friendly and no ‘hard sell’ hawkers. Then we went to Viking cove and Loh Sameh – beautiful high cliffs and turquoise water. There is an optional tour that is operated by locals in traditional longboats, 400baht per person, hop from our boats to theirs and they will bring you to the cove, which is great as plenty of photo opportunities and the staff (nice young man? Name) was great in taking nice pics. The last trip to Maya island (where Leonado D’s movie was filmed) was a little commercial because it’s a very popular tourist spot and it was as busy as the London Underground at peak hour ! Make sure you bring insect repellent and don’t go barefoot. It’s a National Park. Swimming is not allowed at the beach and cannot waddle in the water above knee. This is to save the delicate marine environment which has since improved. Despite the crowds, going there in the afternoon gave you perfect light for photos. There was even a perfect sunset on our way back to Phuket because the sun sets at 6pm in December. I nearly lost my hat to the wind if it were not for the quick response of that nice young man with the curly hair . Thanks for giving our family (and our anniversary) such a memorable adventure !
This was a well-organized trip, we were well-fed and plenty to drink, and van was clean and on time. The boat was clean and in good condition and the ride was good. They could improve with their English – They know the vocabulary but their pronunciation needs improvement and they need to speak slower to be understood. Overall, we would recommend this trip.
This trip was awesome! The driver was a little late but that didn’t take away from the day. Our guide ‘Sprite’ was so fun! We spent plenty of time at each spot. Phi Phi wasn’t overly crowded and lunch was great! Plenty of chances for photos and snorkelling/swimming. Highly recommend this company if you’re looking for an island tour on a budget.
Phi Phi Islands were soo gorgeous! Since we were island hopping, it also felt like we arrived faster since we had multiple places to stop at. The order of the stops I believe depends on the weather conditions, but on the tour I went on, we went to Bamboo Island first (good for snorkeling), then to another spot where we were in the water and could get more snorkeling in (and use the clear canoe), then Monkey Beach for a short period of time, and then we stopped at Phi Phi Don for the lunch buffet (which had an assortment of Thai food, veggies, fruits, and some non-Thai dishes). There was some extra time to also check out the stores in that area. After lunch, we got back on the boat to look at Viking Cave (where bird’s nest is harvested) and Pileh Lagoon. However, we weren’t able to stop and check those two places out because Viking Cave is not open to tourists and I think we might have been running short on time for the Lagoon. Then we made one more stop at Maya Bay, which is where The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed. The beach there is pretty, but you can’t really go that far into the water because they are preserving the wildlife, so it’s really more of a picture taking spot…Overall, I liked the first two snorkeling spots the best because they were more interactive and we got to spend time in the water 🙂 The buffet was also pretty nice although I’m not a picky eater so I’ll eat most anything, and the water activities worked up an appetite! The crew on the boat were also super nice, and provided snacks and refreshments while we were riding the boat to each destination. The lead male tour guide was funny and had good energy, and there was another female on the boat crew that was super pro at taking photos! Which worked perfectly for me because I went on the tour solo. They also provided me with a new mouthpiece for snorkeling, as well as the goggles and the snorkel (which you have to return at the end). The only confusing part of the tour was the very beginning, after I got dropped off by the pickup shuttle. I didn’t realize that there were so many people doing the same tour (they split us up into something like 5-7 boats) and it was a little hectic at the place we gathered before we split up into each group. But they did provide some snacks and refreshments there, as well as a little shop you could buy some extra gear (like a waterproof cell phone carrying case and water shoes) if you didn’t bring them.
This was a wonderful tour. We saw some fantastic coastal cliff scenery, some of which has been featured in Hollywood films for those who care about that kind of thing. A highlight for me was the many swim stops some of which were perfect for snorkeling. Great trip, highly recommended!
We had an amazing day on this trip, it was well organised with attentive crew on the boat. Obviously the views weren’t disappointing, it was everything I’d heard about. We took soooo many photos which I will treasure forever. Thanks for a great day.
