  1. The resort was small, quaint, and quiet. It was nicely appointed and has a pro golf course and horseback riding options. Unless you drive there or have another mode of transportation, you do not have many options to leave the resort and explore the town. However, the pool is large and well-kept and the food is very good.

  2. Played 3 courses in Khao Yai and this is the only 1 course I feel is worth the effort. The other 2 Mountain Creek and Kirimaya was bad. This is evident when you have the entire golf course to yourself as it seems the locals/tourists avoided it.Rancho Charnvee was different. They had a decent number of flights and we were blocked by front flight, the first ever happened in our Khao Yai golf trip. The golf course fairways, greens and roughs were scenic and well maintained with water at some holes. The resort decor as name suggest is a horse ranch.Decor of the clubhouse and shower area is nice too. Really like a little cowboy, ranch kinda feel. If you have time to only play a round at Khao Yai, you will not go wrong with Rancho Charnvee. Yet to try Tuscana Valley though as it looks good on web.

  3. This is one of the beautiful golf course in Khao Yai. Nice landscape and good view. There is a 3-par hole which you needed to hit over the water to reach the green but there are some swan in that water. Don’t hit the golf ball to those swan. It is very expensive (40 time higher than the green fee). LOL

  4. We came here for golf and was not disappointed. The course had wide fairways, undulating at times and provide a challenge to various levels of golfers. The first hole is intimidating as the tee shot is across water. It is a resort style course but certainly not a traditional link course as claimed although there were lots of bunkers. The bunkers were large and not pot sized found in link courses. We played on a Friday and it was very quiet on the course with few other golfers. Of course, it was great for us with no hold ups, etc. Lunch at the restaurant overlooking the course was reasonably priced. It has a great view of the main lake and course. The only complaint we had was sanding on several holes we were playing. It is disrespectful to golfers who had paid regular green fee to find freshly sanded greens, though puttable but in one hole, workers just dumped sand onto the green just as we were approaching it. That was poor management, granted that it was a quiet day with few golfers. We should have been forewarned or they could have reduced the green fee or provide discounted lunch coupons as normally done in other major local clubs such as Black Mountain in Hua Hin.

  5. Rancho Charnvee is in great condition right now. For me it is the best course in the area right now. Lush fairways, great caddies and a very inte eating and challenging layout.

  6. Very well set out golf course 1st hole is a good challenge to your nerves on your first shot of the day with a carry over water of around 160 to 170 meters with no bail out you do not want the wind in your face the course is very scenic and well kept only draw back is carts are not allowed on all fairways.Staff very pleasant food nice and beer was cold

  7. Rancho CharnVee is one of the good courses in Khao Yai. Fairways are well-maintained and wide. Lots of bunkers. Certain holes are challenging. Caddies were helpful and know their job. Nice view. Very quiet on the course and we had the course by ourselves.

  8. If you are looking for a place to relax, and I mean REALLY RELAX, and get away from it all, Look no further buddy, you’ve found it! From the second you walk into Rancho Charnvee you’ll know and feel that “You’re There! “ It’s a beautiful ranch style setup with horse stables off to your left where you can see and feed the horses grazing in their corrals. Just beyond that is a big sprawling back nine of their golf course, green and lush. Enter the lobby to be met by their warm and gracious staff, all smiles. Bellhop promptly transfers your luggage to their,,, I don’t know how exactly to describe it. A mix between a Rolls Royce and Cadillac golf cart that they escort you to your room in. Its really something! Fancy, Fancy! This thing looks like its right out of the movie Caddyshack or something, only missing Rodney Dangerfield in his blaring golf attire and hilarious horn sound. As you walk through the lobby it opens up to a wooden deck with a lounge area decked out in ranch style décor, seats, couches, a little bar with wooden bar stools and overlooking a picturesque little pond. Follow the ramps down to a pretty little green lawn to throw a frisbee or kick a soccer on. Continue a little further along to pool with fountains shooting water up into the air. It’s really quite the site. Little kids pool on one side, circular kids pool jacuzzi on the other, pool bar across from that. We pull up to the rooms in our ritzy little golf cart to see the cutest little Tuscan Italian style house entrance. Really cute. The rooms are nice, decked out in the same style, and clean with a big firm bed and high ceilings. To me, this is the game winner. The high ceiling just make it feel so much larger and breathable. I don’t like small rooms! In addition, the pool view rooms have these quaint little back patios with a table and chairs, a I mean a nice solid iron table and chairs, not some rinky dink plastic set up. They have cute little bricked patios and and iron gates. It makes it pretty nice facing the sunset while you pop open a bottle of red and /or a bottle of white (*I did both* ?). I have to be honest, it was right out of a dream! Realaxing to the Max! We spent a few days there riding horses around the property. I think it was just a couple of two or three hundred baht for pretty good long ride. They have a couple corrals and stables where you can watch, feed and pet the horses. I know my four year old daughter really enjoyed that. They have mountain bikes you can rent and ride along the trails by the golf course, 100 baht an hour, and trust me, I don’t know if you have ridden any mountain bikes lately, but an hour is plenty long to ride, unless you are an enthusiast. *N9te to new riders, they do not like you to take the mountain bikes onto the golf course or through the sand traps! ?. Trust me on this one. Lets just say, mistakes were made?, But we live and we learn, right? The restaurant was nice, not overly fancy, but the food was good and service was on point. They have a couple if dining rooms and seat quite few people. It was not very busy when I attended for dinner. Breakfast was also nicely set up and we preferred to eat outdoors at their cutely tiled tables. The buffet had just about everything you would want or expect at this type of place, pancakes, waffles, omelet station, bacon, sausages, potatoes, bacon, an assortment of Thai dishes, breads juices, bacon, fresh fruits and did I mention BACON? Which pretty much defines whether or not I’m going to like the buffet. Yes, they had bacon, no eggs benedict, but in the eternal words of the Rolling Stones “You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need” and that we did, indeed. The location, we thought, was good as we sent our days hopping around picking strawberries at the numerous strawberry patches a hop skip and a jump away. Eating steaks at the famous Chokchai farm, visiting the wine vineyards and national park. All in all, I really cannot say enough good things about my experience at Rancho Charnvee in khao Yai. It comes with my highest recommendations, top notch in my book and I all our readers get to indulge in this treasure of a hotel. I am certain you will not be disappointed.Cheers Mates and Enjoy the Good Times

  9. This is a nice little resort held in a fake Victorian English style. There is nothing outside the resort less than 15 minutes by car away. Our premier direct pool access room was large and left nothig to be desired, but the air from the AC smelled badly. WIFI was shaky.Staff was nice but lacked a lot in English.Breakfast was mediocre, dinner kind of creepy because besides us there seemed to be almost no guests present at the time. Food and drink prices were too high.Golf course has a challenging layout with fast greens. Nice clubhouse.

  10. This is one of my best family trips so far. We booked the package at a travel fair in Singapore months ahead of the trip, and Guitar who promoted the package delivered the same high level of customer service and gave my family a very personal touch throughout the 3 days at the resort. She was very attentive to my family and assist to work out the plan for the day trip to the national park. We booked a villa for my family with 2 teenage children. We have an exclusive private time at the villa with a pool! The villa was very well kept and they even provided a personalized card that warmly welcome my family. I came without much expectation and was presently surprised that the Khao Yai was very cool in December, about 18°C in the early morning and about 22° in the day, while evening it’s cold. We did not turn on the aircon as it was already cold at night. The resort has activities for my family such as the electric car ride which my family enjoyed a lot. There is a “farmhouse” where there are horses for riding and a little pony for you to get close interactions and swings. At night there is the “Wonder White Winter” carnival with live bands for guest to be entertained with “snow” (foam are blown into the air), live band, and food served cooking outdoors. As the evening is cold the winter experience is real indeed. Overall I am very pleased with the resort and their staff is all very friendly, warm and sincere to give us a good experience and memories. Last but not least, I also wanted to thank Benz, our driver for the 3 days of safe driving the places at the national park. Do check out my reviews for some of the places I visited at Khao Yai National Park. (Disclaimer: This is all my personal experiences and I am not compensated in any way for writing this.)
