Aon is the man! My wife and I are experienced climbers but on vacation and didn’t want to hassle with the logistics ourselves. Aon picked us up from our hotel and drove us all the way to the boat launch on the other side of the bay to take us to Krabi for climbing. I was able to lead climb some more difficult routes but Aon kept me in check was very attentive to make sure we did climbs my wife would enjoy too. He’s an excellent guide and trip leader and focused on our enjoyment and our safety, plus he’s just a fun guy! I highly recommend him!
Definitive the best tour we made in three weeks of Thailand vacation. Aon is a very nice and cool dude who showed us some secret and easy routes. Perfect for beginners who never climbed outdoor before. We really enjoyed our last day in Thailand. Also Aon´s service, from hotel- pick up to food and drinks (even for vegetarians highly recommended!!!) was just perfect. Nice few to the nature and and animals. We also learned a lot about climbing.If you go with Aon, bring a shirt of your local gym! Make a shirt-swap!Thank you very much Aon! Hope to see you again.
Everything was absolutely fantastic. Even after a bit of a hiccup (on my part) during tye first climb. Aon never stopped being supportive,caring, and attententive through the whole day. Dont know if i could pf had a better rock climbing expiernce. Thank ypu so much aon.Also, this guy is so cool,most of the climbing routes where made/put up by him himself. :)Not to mention i made a pretty amazing friend that day <3
Had two perfect days of climbing with a great guide (Aon) and his team that easily handled pickups, transportation, and getting me back. Quite simply, Aon is awesome. Safety was always top priority and he works hard at every part of your experience. If you’re interested in history he’ll make a detour on the way to the crag, if into local cuisine he can make sure to point the lunch break in the right spot, and has great recommendations for other interests in the area once you head off. He cares not just about you getting to the top of a route, but your whole experience from the initial communication, to pickups, to the climb, and beyond your drop off. His English is very good, has great experience in climbing, diving, first aid, etc. and is just plain fun to be around 🙂
This climbing day trip was the highlight of our stay in Phuket! Aon was a fantastic guide and had a great step-by-step approach to climbing. Everything was well organized, from pick-up to drop-off, with good and fulfilling meals throughout the day. The climbing spots in the middle of the Phang Nga national park were idyllic! This is a must-do while staying in Phuket, we highly recommend it!!
Aon worked very hard to provide a nice day of climbing in Phang Nga park for myself and some of my local friends. He has a special talent being able to seamlessly work with people of all ages and climbing skill levels, and to keep everyone engaged the entire time. Awesome trip, Aon picked me up in Phuket and we climbed half a day in Krabi and after we go ziplining and abseiling with spectacular views, Aon knows lot of people in the area so everything was well organized. This was already my 3rd trip with him. He is good friend and great character. Waiting to see you in Puhket in two weeks for trip to Phi Phi.
California to Phuket, Thailand:TLDR:+AFFORDABE AND YOU GET A BANG FOR YOUR BUCK+Cost includes pick-up and drop-off, breakfast & lunch, guiding through jungles and caves to get to the crag, boat fares, and overall an adventure of a life time I cannot emphasize enough how incredible of an experience this was. There are a number of rock climbing tours in this area and I couldn’t imagine a trip as well-curated as this one was. Aon, our climbing and travel guy, is seriously one of the most genuine individuals I have ever met. He takes everything into consideration – from climbing level, interests, and even down to dietary restrictions. He brought us to some delicious local spots, educated us on his culture, and we had some fantastic conversations. **When you book with him, please consider bringing secondhand toys or books for donation. He collects these items and will also donate a portion of your proceeds will be donated to a local orphanage he supports**. AGAIN – such a genuinely nice guy who does these tours because he simply loves the sport. The crags he took us on were very accessible for newer climbers (I had my partner with me who doesn’t climb often) but also had some routes available for more experienced climbers. The one thing you need to be cautious of are mosquitos however – DEFINITELY NEED TO BRING BUG REPELLENT ON THIS TRIP.Overall we had an incredible time! I am already planning my next trip out to climb and I already know I will be reaching back out to Aon of GeckoThailand.
We booked Aon for a day trip in Phuket. He was very accommodating to me (an amateur indoor climber) and my partner (a beginner). He was really helpful to us and was able to introduce us to outdoor climbing. He was able to share his vast experiences with us which was interesting and assuring. During the climb, he was super encouraging and knew exactly what he was doing, we were in good hands.We were provided with necessities such as climbing equipments, transportation and food throughout the day, all in one tour I would say.The food we had includes some light local breakfast and thai-food for lunch, which gave a genuine thailand experience.Aon was also very flexible to the way he planned the day. Since we weren’t pro climbers, he tweaked the schedule and we managed to visit a Buddha cave and local waterfall as well.Overall, he was able to accommodate our needs, very friendly, knowledgeable and understanding guide. The tour was chill and it was a positive experience, don’t have to be afraid even if you have never tried outdoor climbing.10/10 will return again to climb with the man.
