During my trip to Chiang Mai, a group of about 50 people, of many ages but mostly college students, and myself decided to do an overnight hike with the Chiang Mai Trekking Company and it was the best decision ever. The company was extremely professional and personable and wanted to make our experience amazing. It started with an amazing drive through the hills and valleys where we made our first stop to a waterfall. This waterfall was breathtaking and was so much fun to hang by for about an hour where we swam in the water, which was a little chilly, and took pictures. We then went to get lunch and stock up on supplies for the hike and dinner. This was the best food i have ever had with fried rice, chicken, pineapple, watermelon and more, where we sat outside. After lunch we drove a little further until we reached the start of our hike. While the hike was definitely challenging, as it had many parts that were steep and uphill, it was a great workout and the best part was the scenery. The views were amazing and the guides were so wonderful at helping those who were struggling, either in the heat or with the steep climbing. After about 2 hours we reached the small village where we would stay for the night. This village was full of amazing and very generous families that let us stay the night and made us amazing dinner and breakfast. They even made us sticky rice and put on a dance for the group. The best part was the next morning when we drifted down the river on bamboo rafts and got to see and hang with elephants. This company offered us a wide range of activities and we got an amazing and unique experience I will never forget. While there was no electricity or heat, the guides made sure everyone was warm with a fire and was having a great time. One tip is to wear warm clothes if you stay overnight because as hot as it gets during the day, it definitely gets cold in the mountains at night.
I can honestly say that Chiang Mai Trekking was my favorite part of my trip. For me, it was a life changing experience that reinforced my belief that travel is powerful. The Chiang Mai Trekking crew picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the hiking location in their trucks. We stopped to play in a gorgeous waterfall. We stopped at a kitchen where they cooked us some incredible authentic Thai food. There was plenty of food! Next, we drive to the start of the jungle trek. The hike itself was a bit difficult, however it’s great for anyone who loves a challenge. When we arrived at the village we were staying at, we were shown to our cabins. We were also allowed to explore the beautiful village and play with some of the animals roaming around. Our trekking guide cooked us our dinner, which was very, very good. Once it got dark, we gathered in the center of the village around a fire to watch the dances that the villagers preformed for us. We also got to dance with them. My absolute favorite part of the trip was definitely the floating lantern lighting. Everyone was provided a mattress, blankets, pillows, and a mosquito net in the cabin. I would recommend bringing warm clothes to sleep in, as it gets chilly at night. After a night of dancing, we woke up to the amazing breakfast our guide prepared for us before getting on the bamboo rafts to float down the river. At the end of the river ride and lunch, we hopped on the truck to go see the elephants. We got to feed and bathe the elephants, an experience like no other. Overall, everything about the Chiang Mai Trekking experience was truly authentic. I participated in the one-night trekking adventure; however, I would recommend staying a few more nights if possible. Overall, this was an amazing experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
Chiang Mai Trekking was an incredible, once in a lifetime experience. It is a 2-day adventure in which you get to get up close and personal with nature as well as experiencing life as a native for a short period. It started out with about a 3-hour long hike. The hike takes place mostly through the woods, and there are some hills which allow you to witness the beautiful views from various perspectives. During this hike you are accompanied by a few guides that navigate and help you along the way, and I found that they are very friendly and fun to talk to. At the end of the hike you reach a native village, where you stay the night in their simple, yet comfortable, wood homes. The village residents are very welcoming and hospitable. They make dinner and breakfast for you, and at night they will likely teach you some of their traditional dances. We ended the night by setting off floating lanterns. For the overnight stay, you sleep on thin mattresses on the floor with mosquito nets hanging around you, so you don’t have bugs bothering you, and blankets are provided. After breakfast the next morning you set off down the river on hand-made bamboo rafts. Each raft has a guide with a pole to navigate down the river and avoid rocks, and one of my group members had a pole as well to help in the back. We chose to stand the whole time, which I felt made it more exciting because there is nothing to hold onto, so you are relying entirely on balance. Rafting back down the river took about 2 hours, but we stopped halfway through at a rope swing into the water. After the rafting, lunch is provided at another village, and then it is time to head to the elephant sanctuary. You can feed bananas and cucumbers to the elephants and then bathe them in the river, which is an amazing experience. I highly recommend doing this as it is unlike anything else. Tips: • The hike has some steep inclines that can be challenging, so good health and fitness will help you conquer those hills.• Wear athletic attire and make sure you bring a fully filled water bottle.• It got cold at night, so I’d advise you to bring a sweatshirt and use multiple blankets.• The raft gets very wet so if you are planning to sit, wear clothing that can get wet.
2 day hike through the jungle, if you get the chance ask for the guide name song, he was amazing really bettered the whole experience, absolute legend

Booked a 4 days tour with Chiang Mai Trekking. Their charges were reasonable and the guide Dino is superb. He is knowledgeable and very accommodating. Helpful in everyway. Would definately book with them again.
The Main Guide for the 3 nights & 2 Days Trekking was Jojo.Jojo was excellent. He ensured everyone was well looked after and when I had a fall he rushed to my rescue with a first aid kit & cleaned my wound. He would crack jokes most of the time & made us feel at ease throughout. When my thigh muscles gave way & I was struggling with the steep downhill sections..they held on to each side of me & propped me up. Eternally grateful to them. Not only was Jojo an excellent guide..he also cooked most of the meals which was excellent and healthy. He even made sure one of the participants was not given any onions as she was alergic to Onions! The Tribe Accommodation was very Basic as they did not have electricity except from the solar panels which only was effecient when the sun was up. There was no hot water to bathe with so we made sure to bathe early when it was still not too cold outside. This was part of the experience so we took it in our stride. There was a campfire burning on the nights spent at the tribal villages which was hypnotic & kept us warm whilst he went through the activities of the next day..A highly recommended package which is not for Beginners !5 Stars *****
Our friends and I did a one day private tour of Chaing Mai with Chaing Mai Trekking. Our guide showed us three glorious temples (her pick). Emme’s knowledge of Thia culture and Buddism was extensive. Lunch (also Emme’s pick) was one of the best meals we have had so far. The factory tour were more of a shopping excursion (not my jam). I would have preferred more temples or a museum. I highly recommend Emme and Chang Mai Trekking for your tour.
Perfectly planned and carried out one day tour and two hour hike of Doi Inthanon. Saw many things including great views of the twin pagodas and a visit to the peak of Doi Inthanon.
