  1. Friendly staff, Joe is a very kind, animal lover person. It is fantastic and heart-warming to see how these people love the animals, and the animals love them back in the same way. The most beautiful day i’ve spent on my Thailand trip, was the day I went to Elephant House Sanctuary. I am thankful for these people for they work and love. I would go again and again and again.

  2. Great elephant sanctuary that really cares for all the elephants that they house and look after, we had a great half day experience feeding , mud bathing and cleaning them in a fresh waterfall great interaction and information throughout the whole session this is a must see if in Krabi

  3. We had so much fun watching and playing with the elephants in a kinder environment. We were taught how to approach them, and given some background history about each elephant. The mud bathing and swimming session was great! The younger elephant had a blast, and one of the bigger elephants splashed itself and us with mud ?We went with option C and were taught how to make paper out of elephant dung – very memorable to say the least! Option A seemed like a very good value for money option also ?Like other people have mentioned, the elephants are not completely free – they are guided by their caretakers, and are lined up to greet us (or rather get bananas ?). It is however obvious that the handlers care for their elephants, and considering where these elephants came from – they seem to have it much, much better here! (Saw no handler/caretaker using sharp tools)I was glad to support kinder treatment of these awesome animals!

  4. We want to say a special thanks to Joe the coconut man who truly does a wonderful job. He has so much knowledge, so much caring and maximum respect to the tourists that come .Without him and the crew beside him, this sanctuary couldn’t be what it is today. He was so helpful with getting close to the elephants for the first time to all those who are scared like me.He took pictures of us next to the elephants and was so helpful from the beginning to the end .I would definitely come back hoping to see everything just as it is. Thank you Joe. Thanks to all your crew. Such wonderfull elephants and sanctuary .Truly saved those elephants ❤️

  5. Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary offers a truly unforgettable experience. Joe, aka the coconut man, was the heart and soul of our experience at Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary. His passion for the elephants and dedication to their well-being shone through in every interaction. From his extensive knowledge to his warm hospitality, Joe made our visit truly unforgettable !The entire team was welcoming and very friendly ?The sanctuary itself was a haven for the elephants, with spacious and natural habitats. A must-visit for anyone seeking an ethical and memorable elephant encounter!

  6. Besides the most amazing elephants that they are. Joe the coconut man was absolutely amazing . Never saw someone so passionate and loving towards elephants . He made our tour something else. Give him a raise or make him the manager

  7. I was really unsure whether to visit an elephant sanctuary but from what we saw the elephants are loved and roam freely around. We did experience A and would thoroughly recommend…Coconut Joe is great & must be listened too ? the whole experience was amazing …we didn’t participate in the mud bath but it was such a wonderful thing to watch the elephants enjoying themselves in the water. Thoroughly recommend ?

  8. We opted for package A, and that was plenty of time to spend with the elephants. On arrival we were met with elephants walking past as we got out of our transfer. The introduction is a little long, but after that you’re with the elephants the entire time. Feeding, mud bath, followed by washing them off in the stream, it was a great experience.

  9. We really enjoyed our time there, all the elephants are really cute and especially the small 3 year old elephant baby – we gave them bananas and washed them in the river and played with them in the mud. It was really great experience!

  10. Really great half day trip. (3 hour option)Have visited a few elephant “sanctuaries” that have popped up here over the years. The original one we went to a few times seems not to be operating now and the one we visited last year was little more than a tatty corrugated iron shed and a walk down scrubland to a riverbank where we DID meet the elephants but prob spent about 30 mins max as part of a huge group and felt very herded along. I didn’t know what to expect from this new (to me at least) place. It actually turned out to be wonderful. There are 8 to 10 elephants just wandering around as you make your way down to the main grazing area. You can simply walk around them and watch them eating and grooming and speak with the mahouts. All have been rescued from various sad circumstances and range from 3 years to 60+. You can get close and interact as well as give them a mud bath before going to the river to bathe them. ***Bring swimsuit/old clothes/change of clothes as you WILL get covered in the iron-rich red soil/mud***After bathing there are decent showers to clean off and on 3 hour tour you then get some refreshments before making up some “medicinal” food to feed the elephants. Really enjoyed the day so much. Transport is via air-conditioned minivan which is a step up from other places that use pickup trucks etc.

  11. Elephants where amazing 7 in total tour was ok you got to feed the elephants sugar cain we walk round the place feeding the elephants, then it was mud bath time and then off down to the river to was them off. I felt the your guides where a little pushy and that the tour had too many people on it. Elephants did 3 experiences a day so I personally felt they were getting worked to hard for a sanctuary. Plenty of opportunities for photos. So score an average

  12. Visited early in the morning as not to hot, experaince was excellent and well worth the time and cost. One tip – use black shorts/cloths for the mud bath as the red clay soil stains clothing.
