Absolutely amazing. So up close with the elephants, bathing them, everything. Amazing scenery and got a lovely meal and had a bamboo boat right after!
The sanctuary was taken over from the previous owner by his son Neil and what he did is amazing. The elephants are truly treated with respect and dignity. No chains, no riding, no painting. The elephants walk free but of course they follow the food which we were able to prepare and feed them. After taking a stroll with them we were able to bath them in the river. They truly seemed to enjoy it just as much as we did. A BIG thank you to Neil and the team for taking such good care for these elephants.
Must see! Really friendly and very knowledgeable people. informative and fun experience. Fully recommend to anyone thinking of it. Definitely a must do!
So, I went to Chokchai Elephant Park in Chiang Mai with my friends, and guys, it was so cool! First off, we had to wear these funny outfits to keep our clothes clean, which was kind of hilarious. Then, the best part – we got to feed the elephants! It was wild; you actually give them food right into their trunks and mouths. They even taught us special words to use for feeding them from their mouths. It felt super special to be that close to such huge animals. We also walked around with the elephants, took tons of photos, and even got to rub them. It was amazing to be so up close. Plus, we helped bathe them in the river, which was fun and kind of a workout! Our guide, Mona, was really cool and knew so much about elephants. She made sure we all had an awesome time.Oh, and the food they gave us afterward was great too. If you’re ever in Chiang Mai, you’ve gotta check out this park. It’s not just fun, but you can tell they really care about the elephants. Totally worth it!
We had an amazing experience at New Elephant Home. We were 5 friends who decided to visit this place, the pick up was on time and very comfortable; the place is great with lovely friendly staff and the elephants were well looked after. We went for a walk in the jungle with an elephant, we were feeding her some treats and observing her in a natural environmentLunch was also very tasty and big
It is a beautiful elephant camp compared to many others. of and not far away It takes 1 hour to travel. There are cute baby elephants and their mothers and grandmothers together in a herd.
We had the most incredible day at New Elephant Home. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. They made sure we were well informed about all of the elephants and answered every single question we had. They really care about the animals and the story behind them starting is heart warming. We made vitamin balls for the elephants and fed them plenty of sugar cane and bananas. We had a lovely lunch sat watching the elephants which was all included in the price. Would 100% recommend this place if you want to go to see the Elephants in Chiang Mai!
A sanctuary that shows compassion and kindness towards the elephants. The elephants roam freely and on the walk through the jungle, stopped multiple times to scratch itself against trees and rocks and was allowed to without being hurried along. The elephants are not enclosed, with the bamboo fencing having openings allowing the elephants free-roam all throughout the day.Our guide was passionate, friendly and caring, as was the manager. We also got to visit the Karen tribe in the evening, which was a fantastic experience. I hope to return in the future, with the ability to spend much longer at this beautiful sanctuary located in a speck of fantastic Thai nature.
A wonderful perfect experience! We had the “2 hours tour” which was more than amazing! Feeding the elephants, playing with them, bathing in the river and ending with a light lunch on spot. The staff is very polite and have a lot of patience. The elephants are well cared and loved (our guide was even singing to them and permanently kissing and hugging his elephant)No chains or other restraining for the elephants; they are free in the park. No riding the elephants- finally a place with more respect for the animals! Would definitely recommend this place!
Awesome 4 hours spent with the elephants. We researched quite a bit which was the best place to go and felt it would be good to support a smaller sanctuary. We made elephant medicine balls, fed sugar cane and ambled through the river and jungle with 2 elephants and their keepers. One tip I would give is, although they give you short trousers and a smock because you will get wet in the river and on the raft, if i did it again I would wear elephant trousers elasticated at the bottom, thus avoiding any potential mosquito bites as the river washes your spray off, so we did catch a few. Elephants looked very well cared for and the keepers obviously love them very much.
The best Elephant Camp. The tour guides very good fun. We had Muna who was the best. We also met her family. Fed the elephants, bathed them, played with them. Bamboo Rafting, then lunch. Thank you so much Muna x
