This is a beautiful course but was very busy on the day we played. It was the day for the practice round for the competitors in the Asian Junior Masters. If we had known this, or been informed by the course, we would have gone with a different option. The course is lovely. I didn’t have a great day playing (as you sometimes do with golf) and I don’t think my caddy was too impressed with me and she definitely asked for more tip at the end of the game than what I had offered. It was quite expensive and we will look at other courses next time to play.
First timer on the course. Played alone, and caddie changed back 9 to west which was very dry and in bad shape. Only good thing on the change was that there were no waiting at all and the whole 18 holes went in under 3 hours.
The course condition is awfully dried. There is not one green spot on the fairways, the green side areas are watered but the rest of the course looks like you’re playing on a desert surface. Very disappointing for our group of friends. We were looking forward to playing here. The course should have told us about these conditions and let us decide to play or not. What a s**t show and waste of time and money.
We play at this course on 3/18/2024. It was such a huge disappoint after all the hypes about this course. It wasn’t keep up well. It was brownish all over esp the fairway.
One of the best course layouts I have ever played. Unfortunately not enough water so all lakes were dried out? but still an amazing place. Great staff and facilities ?????♀️
This is the highest rated course in Hua Hin. It is certainly a very nice course with great facilities but was let down by very dry and too closely mown fairways. Yes it was the end of the dry season when we played but other courses seemed to manage their fairways nicely.Greens are tough.
We were looking forward to play at “Asias best golf course” and decided to travel far. One week before arrival I received and email about dry course and got a voucher of 1 000 Baht to be used in the shop, due to the convenience of the course. Arriving we were told that golf carts was not allowed to drive on fairways. At the range a lady refused us to hit a few extra balls that was left over by others, instead she ran out and through then by hand out on the range. At the tees we couldn’t find any signs showing a map of the holes!? And no course guide to buy!? And no gps in golf cart!? Tees and greens were green, but 95% of fairways brown with only soil. Starting to play caddies couldn´t tell the holes and had no clue about distance to water or bunkers. Even worse, caddies were speaking with each others when we hit. A terrible day out on the course. After the game I went to speak with the manager and asked for compensation by a voucher in the shop. After shower I was told no compensation at was given. Surprisingly, I was also told that previous voucher of 1 000 bath was taken back!? NEVER MORE BLACK MOUNTAIN GOLF CLUB IN HUA HIN! Worst experience in my golf life.
Played the East/North course which is the original. Even though they had been through drought, some of the fairways left a lot to be desired but the tees and the greens were pristine. Will be back next year to play again. Great facilities, green, chipping and driving range.
I was expecting a lot, and was a little disappointed. the caddies were great, the greens were in excellent condition, but the fairways were very patchy and had a lot of GUR marked out. The course itself is a really nice course, but after reading so many great things about this course, I did expect more. I would rate the greens 9/10 the fairways 6/10, the tee boxes 8/10 and the general layout 8/10. as an overall score I think a 7 or 7.5 out of 10. As I say, its a great course, but I expected better. I have played many better courses.
If you love golf, you must play here. Not a bad hole with brilliant facilities. Some good variety of tough and easy holes. Facilities are first class.
Good course with lots of water challenges Preferred pineapple valley as it seemed better maintained Would play again but not my top pick
Course (North and West) was in good condition and is truly magnificent. I recommend walking the course rather than using a cart. Even if you are not a golfer, just walking the course is an experience not to be missed. My caddie, Ta, was brilliant. She knew the course, distances, greens, etc. I have no doubt her course knowledge saved me ten strokes! The facilities are excellent as well. The restaurant food was superb. The locker rooms are good as well. The loss of a star is based on value for money. When compared to other courses nearby, the additional cost at Black Mountain is not really worth it.
An amazing experience at Black Mountain. Course is magnificent and plays well – greens slick and tricky. Our caddies were brilliant. Clubhouse is great and the pro shop has an extensive range. All very well organised. Sure, it’s not cheap, but a brilliant golfing experience
