I consider myself to be a reasonable cook. However, I have no real experience in Thai cooking. Seeing as I live here decided to take a class with Tasty Thai. They collect and return you to your place of residence and before the class starts take you to the market to purchase fresh ingredients. The class I attended we cooked three dishes, a soup, starter and a main. Dao, the owner is a talented cook and a good teacher. The class I attended consisted of differing skill levels and this was taken into account. The kitchen/classroom was professionally equipped and spotlessly clean.I will be returning.
Just the best new cooking class in Hua Hin. Great, authentic Thai food.Dao (the owner and cooking teacher) took me to Hua Hin market, showed me around and explained lots of things.We cooked 3 delicious dishes: one coconut milk and mushroom soup, pad thai and a rice stir fry. Me being vegetarian was no problem. Everything tasted amazing!She explained every step of the process, we used only fresh ingredients and made everything from scratch.She is very professional, knowledgeable, speaks great English and is the sweetest person.The cooking school is brand new and well equipped. I can recommend a cooking class at “Tasty Thai cooking class” to everyone.
Dao picked me up at my Hotel and drove us to the local market, where we got fresh ingredients and had a look at the different produce. It was my first ever cookery class. It was a very enjoyable day and great fun. We cooked some authentic Thai dishes, which tasted great. The ingredients were so fresh. I would like to thank Dao and co for a wonderful day and for being so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely return if I was in Hua Hin again. Thank you
Thoroughly enjoyed our session today. We cooked green curry pork, pad thai and cashew nut chicken. Dao is very friendly, the kitchen is clean and nice little dining area. We were lucky theres only two of us today so the entire session was more intimate. Dao also took us to nearby Viewpoint since we finished early!
Although we have previously been to Thai cooking classes in Hua Hin they can vary greatly in quality. The Tasty Thai however is up there with the best and well worth the visit. Dao and here daughter are a great team and lead you seamlessly through the dishes and of course you get to eat them all afterwards. Irrespective of your cooking skills you are going to have a great morning and a nice meal.
The place is as shown on the photo – beautiful! The teacher Dao is kind, patient and speaks English very well – which is so rare here in Thailand ^-^. The whole lesson is extremely well organized and we had great fun. Needless to say – the dishes were very delicious (we could hardly believe it was us who made them! ) We were 2 couples and asked for a vegetarian menu, which she accommodated wonderfully. Personally I have learned a lot and will bring other friends along for another lesson without hesitation. Thanks again Dao!

We were visiting Hua Hin and wanted to try a cooking class. There seemed to be two big stalwarts in the market offering morning classes starting early which was not really going to suit our schedule (it was a holiday after all so a lie-in is always welcome). Tasty Thai cooking was able to offer a 12:00 noon start and although it meant we missed the market visit, it suited our group (2 adults and 2 boys – age 12&13). Little did we know that we had stumbled on a gem that is new to the market this year. Dao, our host for the afternoon met us in the lobby of our hotel and brought us to her house/kitchen set up. She has 6 work stations ready for our lessons. We cooked three dishes; Tom Ka Gai soup, Prawn Salad, and fish cakes. All the fresh ingredients were explained and she demonstrated the preparation before we set about preparing our own. Dao was very patient and clear with her instructions and everyone successfully made their own dishes which we then enjoyed sitting by her lovely pool. The kitchen is set up under cover but still outside and it wasn’t too hot, even in the rain it would be fine. My only suggestion is to make sure you arrive hungry!! The dishes are very filling and we didn’t even need dinner we were so full afterwards! Our son has celiac disease and follows a gluten free diet which she was easily able to manage. Dao was also cautious asking about allergies and everyone was able to adjust the spice of their dishes to their own taste. (She was even able to provide a little bit of soothing aloe when my son accidentally touched his face after chopping the chilies). Very enjoyable afternoon and has even inspired me to try to make a couple of the dishes at home.
